I'm posting this up for a friend. He keeps his car super clean and it is definitely quick. If interested send him an email at fowkeada-at-msu-dot-edu

Well, I’m putting my 2002 WRX up for sale. I’ve found another car that I really want to buy and I need to sell this one before I can get the other. A lot of blood, sweat, tears and money have been put into this car. I’ve never beat on it either. I’ve just made it so it can be beat on. I never had the heart to totally test her to the max.
The car is super clean, no dents, scratches or anything. It’s been garage kept all its life. It’s only been hand washed or through touch free car washes. No swirls! I am the second owner of the car but keep in contact with the original owner and I know how anal he was about keeping this car clean and tasteful.

The car was tuned at SpeedIndustry to 287 hp and 297 tq on their in house awd mustang dyno (reads 10% lower than most). The car will come with the stock rims wearing the stock rubber. It’ll also come with 17x7 e42 Ansai Sport rims wearing 205 45 17 Kuhmo Ecsta ast rubber (not shown in pics).

About 70,000 miles on chasis, about 30,000 miles on trans, about 25,000 miles on engine.

On to the mods!

Its a JDM motor, which spins faster and makes more power than a USDM motor. The JDM trans also has better ratios.

That engine and trans is not offered for that year. That engine and trans is the best of the best. That is a super fast subie, probably low 12's, high 11s on a good day.

Oh! I learn something new everyday :gr_jest: I dont know a darn thing about import stuff.

Not knocking the car at all. I think it looks pretty good. But I do have to ask if 11s is considered "super fast" in the Subie world? Or, is it just a turbo change away from being much faster?

The vast majority of the subie world doesn't care much about drag racing. Almost all the subie people I know do rally, road racing, or auto-x, which is where the cars dominate.

Guys with FP green or GT30r turbos can hit 10's though, but you really won't ever see subie's built strictly for drag racing.

Makes sense, making a subie a drag car would be ultra expensive and highly maintenance intensive with the AWD.

Are they more expensive to make go fast than an Evo? Again, I'm just asking 'cause I see lots of fast Evos out there and they're awd, too.

yes. Evos are much cheaper to mod and make much more power with mods than a subie with equivalent mods.

That's a sharp looking bug-eye. Sleeper, do you know if new STI seats work in the STI bodystyles with the blue seats, or if the WR1 seats can be found somewhere easily for them? I would really like to swap out the interior from that tacky blue if I end up picking one up. Gracias!

I believe everything is totally different, but changing seats in a subie isn't bad from what I've heard. I just met a guy who threw Evo 8 seats into his 09 STI. If you search around NASIOC you should get some decent info. PM White Out, he knows WAY more than I do about subies.

Hey guys,

talked to my friend and showed him all this. He said that everything interior wise is interchangeable with an 04 sti interior. But only 04. After that they changed up the door card mounting points. Seats and carpet and interchangeable throughout all the years tho, afaik.

And this car should be running mid to low 12s. It is just a turbo upgrade away from running 11s or 10s. Depends on how big of a turbo you want to go. And the engine and trans were swapped out in order to increase performance just like sleeper said. Stronger internals for the engine and a stronger gearbox for the trans. This car was built to take abuse. It never has seen any tho because he works too much and doesn't have the heart to break it.

Thanks for all the comments and if you want to get ahold of him to check it out email him at amfowke at Oakland dot edu.

He also wanted to say thanks to sleeper for keeping up with the thread and answering peoples questions. He appreciates it since he doesn't have an account on here.

Upgrading the stock stuff in an 02 is pretty nessasary, the stock stuff id weak. By buddy spun a stock rod doing 70 on the eway, and I fixed his transmission by just Dopping the clutch while rolling, cause my buddy was drunk and wanted to feel how fast it was while he was sitting in the pass seat, lol.hammering on 2ed gear. The stuff that was installed in this car is some stout equipment.
