always use locktight, on everything. use the weak shit on stuff you need to take off but always use it. having a bolt come lose can destroy an engine or even a car at the track. Life lesson lol
 
well heres what got done over the weekend.

1. me and daveg got the new rear end with 3.73 gears in and its ALOT faster.

2. my car is a piece of shit. ever since i changed my starter it takes forever for it to start... just cranking it forever but wont fire.well finally when we got done with the rear end it wouldnt start at all. so we quit and left it for the next day. again no start... so i pulled a plug, then alex put the plug on the valve cover while i cranked it to check for something(idk) and wat do u know it started. so i put the plug in and drove it to autozone and back, then it wouldnt start anymore. i have killed the battery 3 or 4 times trying to start it. i am still in the process of new spark plugs in it. and i have a new msd cover on it just in case. and i put a 1 inch spacer btw the carb and intake...

so wat is wrong?????!??!??!?!??! HELP!!! this is getting very old very fast!

More than likely its the pick up in the distributor, Teef and I just delt with this.
 
next time it wont start check spark and hit it with a timing light, if you have no spark or an irregular light then its probably the pick up
 
your not retarted....uve just learned to check all that next time. as long as you learn from every mistake you make then nothing is ever a failure and your never dumb or stupid
 
yea so when we racing dave?? lol, just kidding man i heard about ur car... and thanks to MM my car would be a piece of shit.... lemme know when u get urs running.
 
ill have mine running again in a couple weeks. i have a couple shortblocks in my shed and got a line on another complete motor...its just money for gaskets now
 
i think what im gonna do is use my spare shortblock and a set of d0oe heads with a vic jr intake and a decent cam. should move out good.
