It seems like the more grass roots drag racing has really become what people want to see. Even though it isn't on TV, the drag radial stuff and outlaw pro mod type stuff seems to have a bigger following these days than the NHRA. The Ford re-entry into Pro Stock has been a COMPLETE joke. It is unreal that it failed as hard as it did. And both funny cars and pro stock cars are so far out in left field on their looks at this point that I have trouble understanding why any manufacturer supports teams running those cars in the first place. Except for Tasca, man, that kid is like a human Ford commercial.
So you have the NHRA which is struggling because of the disconect to what is actually in show rooms, and rally racing and drifting which are growing audiences in the proper demographic. I don't see how you can step back, look at what is out there, and say, man, this is a dumb move. It is still surprising to see a solid 15+ year relationship between Ford and Force end though. Maybe Force will go back to the Oldsmobile body
