if I had to choose a lsx engine whats the best pick . for the price ? the height and length have to be the shortest i can get.
 
i think the 5.3 is the shortest...it;s the only 6 cyl in the bunch...

go brush up on your Lsx info, you need to at least know something.
 
They are all pretty much the same block. You can get it in Aluminum or Iron with a bunch of different bore sizes. The iron blocks have a little more flexibility, but you pick up about 80 lbs.

for a rockcrawler, I'd go 6.0L for the torque, and if you need it shorter, you can mix and match oil pan/intakes(LS2 vette oil pan and the LS1 f-body oil pan are the shortest factory wet sump pans , the car intake is shortest)

I know they are all the pretty much the same size weight close beside the truck engine is bigger , so what i'm asking is what is the best intake for the buck ?and out of all lsx which 1 make the most hp for the price ? I have been told to get a ls2 6.2 out of a esclade

LS2 is a 6.0L Commonly found in GTO's

LS6 intake would be your best bet. Make your life easier. Buy a 5.3L TRUCK motor and trans, (you can find them all over) and put a small turbo on it.


Your 2k pound rock crawler will be just dandy. Try GL4x4.
