Food/diet rant.

Agreed. Which is why I only got the veggie sub when I would go there, but even their bread isn't the best. Honestly though, unless you eat organic there's a ton of bad stuff in all of our food. In his case he's probably more focused on cutting calories

"So outside of the nine grains, how many ingredients does Subway use to keep this bread together? Sixteen, including such far-from-simple ingredients as DATEM, sodium steroyl lactylate, calcium sulfate, and azodiacarbonamide. But here's one that's a little unnerving: ammonium sulfate. This compound is loaded with nitrogen, which is why it's most common use is as fertilizer. You might have used it to nourish your plants at home. And Subway does the same thing; the ammonium sulfate nourishes the yeast and helps the bread turn brown. What, did you think that dark hue was the result of whole grains? Hardly. It's a combination of the ammonium sulfate and the caramel coloring. Seems like Jarod might frown on that sort of subterfuge."

my favorite thing is the gym dudes who talk down to the people who don't go to the gym. and then when people DO decide to go to the gym, the same gym dudes make fun of them for being novice, not knowing every exercise that's ever been exercised, and starting now because its "cool" and not starting the instant they exited the womb, like most gym rats will say they did.

fortunately for me, all my gym going friends are pretty cool about it, and if I ask for help WHEN I decide to exercise (rarely, admittedly) they might rib me a bit, but are always helpful.

keep up the healthy eating, I was on a good run in the fall, kinda fell off around thanksgiving. I plan on starting up again. I had a ton more energy when I was eating clean.

Stick to it Kyle! Pretty much EVERYTHING we eat has something in it that people can point to that is BAD for us.
I'm a terrible eater!! Fast food for lunch every day. My idea of "eating clean" is not getting any on my shirt!
But lately, I have gone to side salads instead of fries. Everyone told me the dressing was full of fat.
I went to drinking water instead of soda. A friend of mine sent me an article about mold and contaminants in the fast food joint fountain systems.
I cut out the red meats for chicken and turkey. People went right into the rant about all the chemicals in them.

WE CAN'T WIN!! But, we can loose a few pounds and feel better. I'm down 5 or so in the past 2 weeks. I'll keep it up until I'm down 15 more.
I'll say it again: HANG IN THERE!! Props to you for trying.

FYI, raw egg whites arent as effective as eating cooked egg whites. When they are raw your body doesn't absorb the protein from them as you would if they were cooked. Just putting that out there for ya, lol

And eff that guy, you have to start somewhere, just stick with it and learn what you need to do and you'll be good to go

What Jdp said. I used to be a skinny punk. Now I'm just a 60lb heavier punk. If you check out the dude that lost weight on mckey dees; it's not about what you eat, it's how much. IIFYM.

Honestly the diet and exercise is a lose, lose with the people around you.. A couple of years ago I decided to change my life and eat clean and exercise every day, I lost 95 pounds and still maintain that weight.. My wonderful co- workers figured I must be sick so that was and still is the rumor around work :thumbsdow
The people that do accept what I did ask me for my “secret”… Then they get pissed when I tell them how I did it like I’m lying to them.. Oh well I did it for me so I really don’t care!

Shit, I was 150 with wet clothes on through high school up to my mid 20's. I could eat anything and everything and not gain a pound. Fast forward to my early 30's and now I'm 200

That's how I was. I actually stayed pretty skinny until I quit smoking a year ago. I was 180ish in high school, but it was more muscle back then. I stayed 180ish forever, but now I'm pushing 190-195 and the muscle turned to fat.

That's my big fear of quitting smoking, being a fat bastard. The 2 biggest hobbies in my family are sitting on the couch and watching TV, not the ideal lifestyle for a "quitter".

I'd rather be fat than die of lung cancer.. Just saying lol.
