To say it is light for most males may be true, but each individual is so vastly different that I don't think if a person is 5'8 and 135 they are automatically light. He looks very healthy in his pics and carries the weight like an average guy I'd say.

Again, you snubbed your own argument here with your Ronnie Coleman example. Nowhere did I say 135 lbs was automatically light. And again, since I kept saying "most," you even hinted toward agreeing. A no no in debate.

No you are wrong again. I never snubbed my argument, but judging by your replies, you are not going to comprehend why I have no snubbed my own argument. The key word here is "most." Not all. "Most." Here is your original statement that I have been debating the entire time.

135 lbs is awful light for 5'8" in my opinion. I think if you just started lifting 3-4 days a week, it would take care of the areas you want addressed, and fill you out at the same time. Plus, you'll be able to consume more calories! Seems win-win to me!

To which I replied that 5'8 135 may be light in many cases, but not all.

Would you like me to do Primary and Secondary Research, all from credible sources, to prove the majority of modern 5'8" males weighing 135 lbs are considered to be light? I have the power and ability to do so. I just don't have the time, and the results are just going to be what the rest of us have already said.

I've addressed, countered, and sunk every argument you've presented. I did so all in an intelligent manner. When the cards didn't flop your way, you started to get an attitude. I, as well as Superstang, have also offered a solution, which you pretty much have done none of the sort. Also, everyone so far has been in agreeance, with myself, with exception to you.

You would never survive a debate, or health class. You'd be the guy trying to correct the instructor. And since you like to assume everything, no I'm not comparing myself to an all knowing instructor, because I am not. I do know a little bit about this health deal, just enough to get me by. Superstang is irrelevant because he came in without even knowing Lucky's goals, and was under the impression that he wanted to gain and put on muscle in the gym, which Lucky stated specifically he didn't have a lot of interest in doing.

If you can not comprehend that every individual is vastly different and there is not a standard of weight/height ratio, then there is no use in talking to you.

I am fairly certain that any philosophy major or instructor would agree, but they would not be shocked because people such as yourself who do not know how to debate commit the common fallacy's that you have committed here quite often.

The individual we are talking about is not looking to bulk. He was overweight at over 200 pounds and dropped down to 135 and is now looking to tone up his current body, not put on muscle mass and weight.

And Pax agrees with you, surprise, surprise. Pax, I hope that you realize that people who come into the thread in it's current state and are unaware of the details of what we're talking about that agree with you are not helping your case. It is irrelevant.

I think it's safe to say that most people would say "5'8 135 is too thin" but if that was the goal of the individual and it is healthy and carried well visually then it doesn't matter.

I would do calisthenics and cardio. Weight lifting can also tone you up, I do agree with that. That isn't what we were debating though.

Yea do a lot of cardio....don't lift...maybe do some yoga and hopefully next summer he can weigh 120.... I like it ;)

What are you basing that on? Mike Tyson never did weight lifting, he only ever did boxing and calisthenics. This was his physique.

Daily Regimen (7 days a week): 5am: get up and go for a 3 mile jog 6am: come back home shower and go back to bed (great workout for those huge legs of his) 10am wake up: eat oatmeal 12pm: do ring work (10 rounds of sparring) 2pm: have another meal (steak and pasta with fruit juice drink) 3pm: more ring work and 60 mins on the exercise bike (again working those huge legs for endurance) 5pm: 2000 sit-ups; 500-800 dips; 500 press-ups; 500 shrugs with a 30kg barbell and 10 mins of neck exercises 7pm: steak and pasta meal again with fruit juice (orange i think it was) 8pm: another 30 minutes on the exercise bike then watch TV and then go to bed.:.............
