Finally ran the bone stock '16 Challenger Hellcat

yes at lapeer, he also runs every other track too, it takes some skill to get those hellcats to hook at lapeer on a 45 degree day

nice thing at lapeer you can hot lap like crazy, it was perfect Saturday, and actually get your car to cool down and not get screwed with heat soak in the staging lanes like Milan (and maybe get 2 runs at Milan in 8 hours)....that plays in big on a NA car situation making some nice ET at lapeer

Lapeer may not be the best, but I prefer going there anyday over Milan more and more, oh and they are open this weekend too

for the Lapeer haters my car went 12.87 Saturday and 13.01 at Milan last weekend in 20 degree warmer weather seems pretty consistent with weather differences

and wish ubly would be open later too, same deal there you can hotlap and get a cooldown without that staging lanes screwing it up

also lance went 11.9 at Milan in a scat pak challenger, wow talk about great ET, and another scat charger went 12.2 at Milan Saturday again great ET. the NA cars seem very consistent everywhere, and these cars are stock powered

I passed a line of cars sitting on the shoulder of M24 yesterday, they looked like they were headed to Lapeer. A bunch of mopars and at least one GTR. I was going fast so I didn't get a close look. Was tempted to join them.

I just remember being bummed at every track me and my pops went to after Lapeer because went went 11.50s at like 118-119 in his red Camaro and then proceeded to go 11.80-11.90 at 115 at Milan, Norwalk, and US131 all within the same year with no changes to the car. Maybe the track has changed and my skepticism is based on old facts but that was my experience. Couple that with the fact that there's a ton of guys chasing the stock record running at killer tracks in killer air and most struggle to even get into the 10.6x's doesn't make it any easier to believe.

Exactly!

I saw that green one there yesterday. If the red one from the picture is what raced, I didn't see that one. There was another white Challenger, but I don't remember what he ran off the top of my head. Yesterday Milan was like Lapeer has been every time I've been there with hot laps. You might have had to wait 20 minutes between runs with the various lines, but it never went much over that.

The big tire stuff doesn't do it for me, but there were actually quite a few very nice "street" cars there. V2 CTS-V in the mid-11's. Procharged late model Mustang running bottom 10's, V1 SRT Grand Cherokee moving pretty well, etc.

Aaaaand how did your SS run??

I read somewhere the newer cars have to be 9.99 or faster for a rollbar now

Still could be up to the track to allow it also
