Finally building myself a garage

I'm zoned agricultural so I didn't need a rat wall. And most post frame buildings don't unlike stick buildings/actual garages

I live in Fraser now. 14 and hayes area. Theyre pretty cool with size, but it seems like they just have some strict codes that need to be followed. Any outbuilding needs a rat wall, whether is a 4 car garage, or a shed from Home Depot. Im probably going to do a 16x20 garage. i dont want it to take up too much yard, and i wont ever have a car back there, but id like to be able to keep everything out of my attached garage except cars.

Build it tall so you can have a storage loft?

16' x 20' will fill fast, I'd fight for every bit
of storage space I could get. If I ever built
a garage I always thought I'd build it with
a second floor of loft (if code allowed).

If I had land i would, but this is in a regular backyard. Ill probably keep it under 12 ft overall. I still have a 3 car attached, this is just for lawnmower, workbench, and shit like that.

So does anyone here build garages?

Chris Hansen, great garage! Thanks for sharing your build. It looks like a great shop that was built in a nice timely manner.
