ET Street Vs ET Street Radial

i have the radials right now and was curious if there is any advantages to going to the non radial version... any thoughts?

i ran 8.40's with my bbf car on a 28/12.50/15 et street, it 60 footed around 1.25 for an average, not sure how the radials work but the et streets worked great!

bias ply tires grow on the big end so they can actually lower your gear ratio slightly, also because they are a soft sidewall tire they aren't as stable on the big end and also create more drag due to using less psi in the tires.

I've used ET Street non-Radial for years. They work almost like a slick. I like the soft sidewalls, but I've never had an ET Radial on my cars.

Here are some general guidelines I have experienced.

Street car= Drag Radials. ET Streets are instant death if you get caught in the rain. ET Streets make your car wallow around in the corners and feel mushy. They are DOT approved but really as a racing classification and are not recommended by the manufacturers for highway use. And it looks like you could get a ticket. :( And honestly, who needs ULTIMATE traction for the street.

Track car= Depends. Auto trans and DR's are awesome! Fast street-style cars can pull 1.3's! I've pulled 1.5's on a skinny 255/60-15 and 1.44 on a 325. DR's feel real stable all the way down the track and will mph better. For stick cars the ET Streets are the ticket. Those tires can absorb the hit much better and will be way more consistent. They can feel mushy at the big end and will suck some MPH but you can get used to that. And they run almost identical times to a pure slick (some people say better because the width allowance is greater.)

Basically, the ET Streets will net the ultimate number but with some real cost for most people. Todays DR's are amazing, way beyond the original BFGoodrich's of 10 years ago. I think Mickey Thompson, M&H, and Hoosier are the stickiest followed by Goodyear and Nitto. I've never tried the Toyo's.

BTW, yesterday I did get a 1.56 60ft with a 6-speed on a 295/55-15 MT Drag Radial so they can work with a stick too. :)
