Engine Combo Recomendations

:naughty1: I knew that would get a rise out of the haters --- lol! In all seriousness, if you were starting from scratch and had nothing, I'd consider that option as those motors (even with harnesses, computers, etc) can be found pretty cheap these days. For the power, it's not a bad way to go. But you are going to spend dough on headers and other stupid problems to make it work. I agree with most on a nice h/c/i, etc 302/351 based combo. It all depends on your budget and goals. If you think it might end up getting hopped up down the road, then the windsor might be the better way to go in all honesty. I personally like the small motors, but that is just me and it's hard to argue with displacement. Either way, some nice bolts ons, heads, cam etc should make for a nice setup. Good luck!

Hi Sean,

Good to hear from you. Never really thought about cross breeding for this car--I know those motors make great power and respond well to mods. Although I would not be opposed to the idea, the budget just isn't there for a mojor job like that--now if the motor goes in it then we have to re-think the idea but for now it will just be a HCI type of deal. It will make what it makes at the end of the day. I don't think that 300-350 at the FW is out of the question with the right combo of parts.

Later,
