Ecoboost F150 ppl come inside

Eco-boost in the Sport isn't suppose to be for fuel economy. Get an Eco-boost Fusion if you want fuel economy, not a full size SUV with 365hp.

I wasn't looking for fuel economy, never said I was. Simply stating that it isn't very good. Just a fact.

Not an EcoBoost, but my 2010 F150 is pretty much right on too. (within .1 mpg)
I used to keep hand calcs for it, but don't bother anymore.

 The calculations arent always correct on those. Anthony says his is, but I've never seen one that is right. They are usually 2-3mpg off

Kind of digging up an old thread but the computer and hand calculations are pretty damn close. Id say if anything, hand calculations are more inaccurate than the ECU. The ECU can look at fuel trims, injector pulse width, pump activity etc. You can calculate how much fuel you put in and use the miles traveled but that leaves a lot of room for error. You can fill up at 2 different stations or at different times in the day (temp affects it) and top off to two different amounts. My truck said i used 30 gal and i squeezed 30.5 in the tank.

Anyway, I traveled home to MI from NC with a 3-place jet ski trailer, loaded down cab and bed with furniture thru the mountains. My trailer had a shitty bearing and still got 16-17.5 mpg at 60-65 mph thru the 856 mile trip. (thats not the instant thats the average over the WHOLE 856 mile trip)

I traveled back to NC from MI with cruise set at 75-80 unloaded and averaged 20.4 Mpg (same route) I-75/I-80/I-77 (including a couple hundred mountain miles with an instant Mpg of 19 according to the fuel display) I-40/US-70

NOW, I know that you can get these trucks to suck down the fuel at a cyclic rate. You have to drive it normally. If you take the tach up to 3500 RPMs and boost the turbos for all of that then you might have 10 Mpg or whatever ppl complain about. For instance, my neighbor has a newer Escape with the EcoBoost and was complaining about 20 Mpg (mixed driving) I rode with him and drove the damn thing like a teen in a Neon, routinely hitting 3500-4000 RPM.... yea theres your issue.

When it's all said and done, mpg is nothing more than estimate regardless of which method you use.

There is pump, odometer, tank, fuel density, temperature, pressure (tire and air) variations, just to name a few. There's a lot in dash fuel economy calculations, quite a bit of effort to get the fuel side as accurate as seemingly possible.

Towing 24' enclosed trailer with C5 inside. A little highway and a bunch of suburban streets between Farmington and Waterford Hills Raceway.

My 2011 EB 4x4 with 40k miles on the clock gets 15mpg in town and 18-22mpg on the highway. I love it.
My commute to work is under 5 miles one way...and you couldn't pay me enough to drive a gas-sipping death trap, regardless of the distance. I bought the truck to drive it, not look at it.
Oh, I'll be the guy waving at you when you're stuck in the 6" snowfall as well.

Scooter, how hard were you driving it? I commonly see people getting around that and swear they drive it like and angel which i find kind of hard to believe.

Sidenote, I took a 100 mile round trip today and averaged 23.2 (completely unloaded)

I bought one. End of March, put less than 200 miles on it before taking part in the Hot Rod Power Tour this year. Didn't get great mpg, but I was hauling a bunch of stuff, towed a car for 160 miles. I'm pretty happy with the truck. Love the gains from my livernois tune.

That was towing 8000 lbs of enclosed trailer on surface streets to the track. Lots of stop and go. I typically get 16 in daily driving and 19-21 on pure highway trips depending on speed. There's a sweet spot around 60-65mph but ain't nobody got time fo dat.

LMAO, yea... I start doing the "how much money is saving time worth to me" calculations and bump it to 75-80 ish

Drive 100 miles a day, and tell me how much you love driving your truck then.

Then when there is 6" of snow, and I blow by you and your almighty truck because you thought you were a badass and put it in the ditch, I'll be waving at you, with one of these :loser:

Then when there is a 12" of snow on the ground, I'll come by and pull you out with my Superduty. :D
