Did anyone make a thread about the Buff Whelan Chevy dealership fire?

Does anyone have updates on the dealership? I drive by a few times a week and it looks like it's still making minimal progress.

Any word on the techs/service adisors etc?
 
I’ve been there a couple times for free oil changes. it looks like they take the cars to the used vehicle building for oil changes, not sure about actual repairs.

Please provide more details on these free oil changes. It now costs $55 to do an oil change on my HHR.

GM gives 2 on new cars.

$55 is crazy though. I paid $60 a few months ago at the dealership on my Sierra. That’s for 8 quarts and a tire rotation! It’s barely worth it to do it myself at that price.

I took my CTS-V to Uncle Ed's when I got it out of storage. I brought them a K&N oil filter and asked them for Mobile one. They said they only have Kendall synthetic oil. I said OK. They had 2 choices the cheape of the 2 was $105, the more expensive was $149. I said put my dip stick back in and the oil cap back on and don't touch a thing. No way I'm paying over $100 to dump 6 quarts of synthetic oil in a car!

thats freaking ridiculous... wow..
 
New GM LTx motors are like 10 quarts now. With my car and my truck both having 6.2's I will probably be changing them myself for the rest of my life! I am way to cheap to have a dealer do it...

I believe that was exactly his point!
A few incinerated cars means nothing relative to the financial impact of the employees and business owners.

That's what most of my curiosity is about. As a former technician and service advisor, I'm wondering if their pay or work schedules changed.
