Dad's Current Project

Haven't updated anything in a while, then again, who wants to see primer and guide coat and shit? The end result of all that stuff that is lame to look at

I'll be sure to post more pics when it has interior or a top or something, or maybe when the chrome stuff is on it because I'm sure that'll look sick too. Dad had been talking about painting the grill and I think I talked him into chroming it. I think that's the only way to go with the Charger grill. Seems so close to being ready to go that it could be up for Dream Cruise but with no trans, no interior, suspension pieces that need paint there is way too much for it to be ready by August still.

Yeah Chrome would be a lot cooler on that car. Those Charger grilles wouldn't look right painted.

It's on air ride so it can sit however, I think that is how dad plans on driving it though. It looks lower than it really is with the extended rockers and all though too.

6.1L Hemi, the hole in the hood is for an old Mopar Shaker scoop that dad built an air box out of that contains the filter and baffling and drains for rain water to get it away from the filter. All the air into the new Hemi will feed through the shaker set up he made. It fits over the intake in a way that makes it so you can't even really tell it is a new Hemi.

Well, the latst progress isn't good. My parents are looking at a very, very serious flood possibility. All the parts for the car loaded up in it so it can head to higher ground if the river gets any higher. It is a good 4 feet higher than I have seen it in the 22 years since my parents moved into their house that is about 5 blocks from the river.

I was talking to dline on Woodward Friday night and realized I haven't updated this. Car is done. Won best (or maybe it was outstanding, I forget and they are two different awards) paint at the Omaha Autorama and maybe another award or two there. Just got a Builder's Choice award at the Des Moines Goodguys. It'll be in the Chrysler display for Dream Cruise.

All the old pics I had posted seem to be dead. That's what I get for linking from Mom's album, she must have done something. There actually aren't any real current or good under hood pics in the album

Dad said he got rid of the fake spark plug wires to clean it up. Between the coil pack covers and the shaker scoop you can hardly tell it's a 6.1L Hemi even.

Here's one someone else took at the Omaha Autorama
