CTS-V Replacement - Project Daily Driver

I have been looking for over a year now for a replacement to my 2005 CTS-V. The car has been great, probably one of my favorite cars to own. But at almost 170,000 miles its time.

My criteria for a replacement:

1.) 4-door sedan
2.) Manual Trans
3.) Fast

Basically just like my current car. After many months of being depressed by the prices of the 2nd Gen V's.....I started to look at current B8 Audi S4's. As reluctant as I was to buy foriegn....I found a good deal on one in California

For those of you that don't know about the S4....it appears to a bad ass v-6 with a twin screw blower. So I went about purchasing this from Copart.com. $22K later it arrived.

target completion date is 4/15.

BTW, I bought it with no odometer reading.....it powered up and it has 6600 miles.

The down side is Audi's have a breaker on the + terminal of the battery cable that blows when the safety restraint system goes off. Haven't been bale to start yet, but the part is on order. Should be able to start this weekend.

Can't wait to see it that doesn't look that bad but i'm sure if its totaled there is more than I can see in the pics LOL

German doesn't = Import

German = Bad ass cars :)

Also you might want to check into Cali emissions in MI. I know we (as a dealer) can not sell a car/truck with Cali emissions. I don't know about the used market. Just an FYI

I wonder why the emissions would be any different?

Progress from this weekend:

The front took a hit which looked light, but took out a heat exchanger for the blower and bent a tire rod.
The rear got hit hard. The suspension had a broken A-Arm and the cradle was bent. Most everything came back when we pulled it. The deck lid was junk so I replaced with a used A4 lid. I have 90% of the parts so far.

It seems that when these cars get hit and the SRS goes off all the seat belts sinch down.......which means I have to replace all 5 belts. Anyone know a local place that rebuilds them? I have a place in GA that will do it for $65/belt.

I have seen an 'old' guy make some metal his bitch! Your pops looks skilled. Have fun.

Flip up to his old antics!!! LMAO! Looks great Tim! Keep us updated---I looked at some of those cars a few years ago (twin turbo v6 versions). Fun to drive for sure! Good luck with it!
