Cop Haters...

get a voice recorder, and if you feel compelled a camcorder, make sure you don't have the view finder open and its not sitting on your dash as they can call you for driver distractions, inform the officer that the camera is recording and the voice recorder is timed and dated, you will be amazed how fast there attitude changes... some might say that im ridiculous and wrong, well, after you have have been wrongly accused of drinking and driving... and being wrote up for random speeding tickets and yes they were all dropped in court... you tend to take your own actions to make sure the true story gets told to the magistrate.

i just don't understand why so many cops have to act so high and mighty, you write tickets enforcing laws that are pre written, do the job with a smile... not staying all cops are terrible but i have come across to many with a ridiculous chip on there shoulder.

i have gone as far as hand writing supervisors and sending video and voice recordings. asking if this is how they teach new officers to handle simple traffic situations. Yes i have received letters back apologizing for the performance of some officers and explaining they will be informed to change.

You still ok with members pulling holeshots in front of your house? I remember that thread....:baddancin :gr_drivin

ABSOLUTELY! As a matter of fact, they just poured brand new cement on the side street that runs parallel with the railroad tracks by my house.....It's just begging to be "broken in".

As far as the yellow light ticket goes, I could be wrong but proceed with caution was what they told us in drivers ed. Then I heard from my buddy who is a township cop that it is stop if you have room too. When I got the ticket for running one the cheif said any part of your car is under the intersection when it turns yellow, then you ran a red light. The entire court room was full of people with the same ticket when I went to fight it. They gave it to a guy who was pulling a trailer, and his trailer was going through the intersection when the light turned yellow, and thats what the cop said happened. Any insight to this? I know the township chief is all about the money here, but can he change the law?

MICHIGAN VEHICLE CODE (EXCERPT)
Act 300 of 1949

257.612 ................

(b) If the signal exhibits a steady yellow indication, vehicular traffic facing the signal shall stop before entering the nearest crosswalk at the intersection or at a limit line when marked, but if the stop cannot be made in safety, a vehicle may be driven cautiously through the intersection.

99 out of 100 of the cars I see pass through a yellow light have PLENTY of time to slow and stop. Everyone seems to be in such a hurry that they just pass right through and use the excuse "I couldnt stop in time". We all know that when approaching an intersection on a green light that the light can change at any moment. So, knowing this, its our jobs as safe drivers to anticipate the change and prepare to stop once the light changes to yellow. Yellow does not mean speed up, go faster or race through the light. Further more if the light changes to red before you cross the stop bar (thick white line on the pavement) you have just ran a red light. This happens often as drivers see the yellow light, hit the gas (rather than the brake) and attempt to make it through before it turns red.

If you see the yellow, slow down and prepare to stop, thats your safest bet.

Yeah, and the attitude of the driver as well ;)

I am always honest and cooperative whenever I get pulled over. Although it hasn't really made a difference on a few occasions. If a cop has had a bad day chances are you're going to know about it.
I've been pulled over on a few occasions and started getting yelled at before I knew what I did wrong. I can handle it though. The #1 thing I hate more than anything is being harrassed because I'm young(and drive a mustang) and I guess I look like a hardass or something.LOL
One officer actually told me that I should expect to be pulled over driving a car like this and being so young...LOL!

What is the law on license plate frames/ covers? I was pulled over this spring/summer during the middle of the day for having a license plate cover (barely tinted, can easily see it at night with NO lights on it, the letters still reflect). The officer was driving the opposite way from me, pulled a u-turn and pulled me over on the entrance ramp to I-96. I pulled over, shut the car off, keys on the dash, hands on the wheel, yada yada yada.... He then asked The usual question of "do you know why I pulled you over...." being very polite I said "honestly, I have no idea. I was obeying the speed limit and all traffic laws". He proceeded to ask me if I knew that license plate frames and covers are illegal, I said I had no idea (which I really didnt). Goes back to his car, runs my info, comes back and says I need to remove it as soon as I get home. I said OK and asked him a question. "Does that mean that every car that is driven off of a dealers lot is illegal?" He turns around and says "Yes"....

I know this was a case of young guy driving a fast car and he was hoping to catch me doing something.

My question, are the license frames/ covers illegal and are they an offense you can be pulled over for? sheriff BTW

thanks

How bout next time I dont answer it and you spend the time you wasted posting such comments (like above) and find the answers yourself.

I do have other things going on in my life other than trying to help you out.

For those who appreciate the thread and understand that there are more things to life than waiting by a computer watching a thread....thanks for your support.

no need to get all pissy about it, i asked the question when the thread was posted and you were answering all the other questions. BTW i have asked the question to others a few times before and got different answers, and was just wondering what your input would be on the situation.

lose the chip.

So, you had already asked the question before to others and yet you complain that he didn't answer your question in what you felt was an acceptable timeframe? I don't understand how you post what you did. You obviously weren't in that urgent need of the advice.

Check the 'tude. :shake:

it was just to get an opinion.... people were posting stuff that happened years ago and it was discussed but oh well, looks like alot of things have changed here in the past couple years... seems like everybody has some big fucking attitude, but whatever keep yourselves stressed out

As I remember I already apologized for not answering your question earlier in the thread. Further more I may get pissy when/if someone wines about me not doing them a favor by answering their question when THEY see fit. I'll answer ALL questions when I have the time and if I miss one they can kindly point it out and Ill take care of it.

lose the chip.
Yeah, Ill get right on that....

ahhh, my apology to you, i didnt see that you answered it, my bad and thank you
Ok then.

I thought you knew I apologized and answered your quesiton already and were just being a turd because it took me too long.

I will always try and answer all questions right away if I get the time. I think in your case I was getting bombarded with so many that it slipped through.

Feel free to hit me up with any more if you feel the urge....
