Cop Haters...

I always to try to be as respectfully as possible.

I got pulled over last year on tele for being a jackass in a friends car I just put a new motor in it so I drove it to and from work putting some miles on it before it got loaded up to go the the track for the next morining.

Well he followed me for a bit then pulled me over once I got onto van born. I pulled into murrys shut the car off took the keys out set them on the dash turned on the dome light and put my hands on the top of the steering wheel and they stayed there.

He walked up asked that oh so familar questions. Do you know why I pulled you over?

My exact statement was becuase I just beat the living shit out of this thing on tele about two mintues ago; He chuckled and said yeah. Then asked for license , insuracne etc..

At this point I asked him if I could lean over to get the items out of the glove box when he said yes I did so.. (I always ask before moving hands from the top of the steering wheel or outa line of sight. I don't want to get shot lol)

Once I gather them and handed them over I explained quickly it was not my car, said who's it was, his name and home address which I know, told him I was leaving work and that we just put a new motor in the car and had drove it to work just to put miles on it and about how it was going to be put on the trailer when I got to take the the track in the morning.

Guys was very undersanding didn't seem to be upset at all.
He asked about my driving record and I just told him it was colorfull due to me being a stupid kid with fast cars when was a lil younger. Ended up not getting a ticket, he told me if I saw him at the track the next to say hi and walked away... Which I did he was once of the security guys that drive around on golf carts for milan.

I've honestly only had on bad experiance with a cop and it was a local city cop who used to sit on my corner before school and follow me to and from school would follow me around on lunch all kinds of crazy shit. Which all started becuase i drove my car to school after puttin headers on it to put the exhaust on in auto shop and he had pulled me over for loud exhaust and gave me a ticket even after I explained what I was doing.

I got a tickets for a kid doing a burn out next to me which that cop said I did, seat belt tickets, speeding for going 2 over moving with traffic, changing lanes with out a turn signal, incorrect lanes use for puling out of a praking lot into the turning lane then merging, anything he could think of. I had gotten 16 tickets in less than three weeks all from him. Finally I had enough when I was leaving auto shop one day to walk outside and he had the door open on my car diggin thru the back seat.. He was "checking the vins on the seat belts" to make sure they match the cars. I about lost it and went to the police department filed a complaint and said I was gunna press harasment charges and drag his ass thru court and sell my car to pay for lawyers to keep doing it. After that he left me alone and i havent seen him around the past few years. A few years ago i heard the had problems with him doing this to alot of high school kids and eventually was transfered becuase of it from a friend who works at that department now.

dome lite on is a good thing!
along with hands where the cop can see them!

these guys have a hard enough job to do !
they only want to go home after their shift!

(man up) take the ticket dont whine !

One more addition regarding court. If you really feel that you were innocent, you can appeal a local court decision to the county circuit court. I had to do this when the moron who sits on 8 Mile Rd & Mack wrote me a ticket when he lost site of the car that was speeding (and my mother who was in the car had to restrain me from kicking this guys ass). After going through the kangaroo court that is Grosse Pointe Shores, I appealed to the Wayne County Circuit Court. I won the case on appeal and the appeal cost was $6.00

Honesty and being polite is always the best policy.

A Co-Worker has a P.O.A.M. sticker on his back window. His Dad is a Police Officer, and that usually works for him.

My Brother in Law is an Officer as well, most of the time he lets people go if they are honest and polite (considering it was a minor traffic stop). A Female tried the ol "hike up the skirt when he comes back to the window" stunt, and she automatically got a ticket, when otherwise he planned to let her go for failure to yield.

Do you pull cars over for strictly tint? I have 35% on my car, but you can still see through it.

I made one of these threads a while back....

I NEVER have/would pull anyone over for tint. I have the windows on my vehicle tinted, and I would feel like a hypocrite for pulling someone else over for that reason.

Good thread Subie Cop!

ive never had a cop be a dick to me... but ive got way too many storys about being pulled over... seems like everytime i speed or roll a stop sign i get pulled over... why is it that some people can drive like total assholes all the time and never get tickets and i normally drive like an old woman and i get pulled over everytime i touch the gas pedal

i have a question...... lets say its tthree in the morning, nobody is on the road, there is 10 inches of snow on the ground and im in a plow truck. i slow down for the red light check to see if anybody is coming and if all is clear i proceed.... would you see a problem with that?

hey, you never answered my question.....

get a voice recorder, and if you feel compelled a camcorder, make sure you don't have the view finder open and its not sitting on your dash as they can call you for driver distractions, inform the officer that the camera is recording and the voice recorder is timed and dated, you will be amazed how fast there attitude changes... some might say that im ridiculous and wrong, well, after you have have been wrongly accused of drinking and driving... and being wrote up for random speeding tickets and yes they were all dropped in court... you tend to take your own actions to make sure the true story gets told to the magistrate.

i just don't understand why so many cops have to act so high and mighty, you write tickets enforcing laws that are pre written, do the job with a smile... not staying all cops are terrible but i have come across to many with a ridiculous chip on there shoulder.

i have gone as far as hand writing supervisors and sending video and voice recordings. asking if this is how they teach new officers to handle simple traffic situations. Yes i have received letters back apologizing for the performance of some officers and explaining they will be informed to change.

or you can show your boobies giggity giggity
