Comcast’s Unlimited Usage Really Means 250GB p/mo

So watching a movie on your PC at netflix.com, does not count against your 250GB quota?

I'm guessing by the internet only through your cable modem. The answer is yes...since you are using your internet connection :shrug:

The 250gb cap has nothing to do with the TV service, internet only through the cable modem.

It sure does if you are augmenting your basic cable TV service with streaming HD content over Netflix, etc. Downloading HD movies is how I went over my 250 GB quota .. by 500 GB. :lol:

I'm sorry I must of read that wrong. Yeah if you use your PC to watch netflix that will count. I really just don't know how people can reach that limit and have a life outside of their house. I play XBL quite a bit, download songs, movies, etc. NEVER hit it one time. Reguardless, different strokes for different folks. Again, I didn't make the limit. I don't know why, or what the specific reason they limit it, they don't tell us.

The reason I say people who meet that limit need to get out more is because out of an average of 15,600 phone calls I took last year. I've only ran into ONE person who met that limit. The set limit is ample for 99% of people, but with the way technology is going and pretty much everything runs through the internet, I could see a lot more people meeting that limit I suppose.

If only one percent of Comcast customers exceed 250 GB per month then there is NO reason to enforce a quota.

Look, I could understand Comcast metering your upload/download cap to maintain comfortable performance for ALL of their customers, but that's not what they are doing. They told me my service could be cancelled if I went over the cap again. I'm sorry, but that's total BS, especially when they don't provide any mechanism for you to know when you are approaching the cap.

What a joke that Blast is then. Pay extra for high speed internet so you can hit your limit faster! When I first had Comcast they would give you the faster bandwidth as part of your $65 per month. Now they want to charge you for it. What a scam. It must be nice to be a monopoly.

I mentioned that to the gentlemen from the 'Policy Observance' department who called me when I went over the 250 GB quota.

He said that the Blast package is still a residential offering and thus limited to 250. If I have trouble again I'll just upgrade to business service. I hate to spend $150 a month for home internet on top of everything else..
