Check out my conversation with Sprint…These guys are dense over there.

So, I have Sprint. Their service has gone to shit in a hand basket…there's been threads here before about it…I've been back and fourth with them multiple times in the past 30 days arguing with them. I just want my phone to work like it should. Thats all. I just want what I pay for. I went online and talked to a rep today and this was our conversation…note the part underlined in red. I actually was so furious typing that and his response made me even more angry. Are these fucking people dense over there? Who the fuck hires these no bodes who don't know shit about shit.

Willie V.: Are you able to receive text messages?
You: Here's whats going on. I can text some people, some people I cannont.
You: And my phone is double texting. Been doing that for a month
You: Example…I was texting someone all day today. Suddenly, I can't text them anymore. Try to resend the same text like 50 times and it does not go through. Then one time, it does…then literally five seconds later, I try to send another text and it does not go through
Willie V.: Okay. Did you download a app on your phone before this issue start?
You: I then send a text to someone else immediately and it works…then try the first person again and it did not work.
You: Did not download an app.
You: My wifes phone does it too. She has only ONE app on her phone. Candy Crush. Thats it.
You: My phone is up to date with firmware and software
You: I did multiple hard resets
You: Nothing worked.
You: If you tell me a tower is down or getting worked on, I'm going to blow a gasket. That seems to be the default answer from sprint to EVERYONE.
You: My wife just texted me now and I texted her back. I just tried to text my friend and it didn't go through.
You: I'm so sick of this. 6 months ago, I told people that Sprint has a rock solid network and I recommend them. I've actually talked people into getting sprint. Now? I wouldn't want my enemy to have this service. I drop calls left and right, texting is splotchy and internet is hit or miss
Willie V.: Are you not able to send a text message to an iphone user?
You: I don't know what phone they have. Why does that matter? It's a network issue, isn't it? Not a hardware problem?
You: And if they were a iPhone user, why could I send them messages before, but suddenly not now.
You: My phone tells me it's a network issue
Willie V.: If they has turn on imessage on their iphone, they can only send and receive free text messages to iphone user only.
Willie V.: Can you please make sure if someone using iphone on which you are not able to send text message?

You: Well, my wife does not have an iPhone and it happens when I talk to her all the time.
You: It happened with my wife and I today
You: She has a galaxy phone as well as I do.
Willie V.: Okay. Let me discuss your concern with my supervisor.
You: And I seriously doubt someone with an iPhone I talk to would switch settings. I'm 31 and tech savvy. So are my friends I talk to .
Willie V.: If someone using an iphone, please ask them to turn off imessage from their iphone via setting > message > turn off imessage.
Willie V.: After that try to send a text message to that number to know the status.

You: I just texted them. they texted back that they do have an iPhone. Should I text them and ask them if they are getting my texts
You: maybe I should text them and tell them how to receive my texts
Willie V.: Yes.
You: That was sarcasm. I know typing does not translate well. What I was getting at was that I texted them to see if they were getting my texts. It did go through that time…now its not. Here's some more sarcasm…Do you think they are continuously switching the message settings on and off for fun
You: If they were getting my texts, how could they have the text settings off.
Willie V.: I have discussed your concern with my supervisor. We understand your concern and apologize for the inconvenience. So, we are escalating your concern. The assigned analyst will look into your concern directly and will assist you accordingly.
You: I've been through this twice in the past month already. it always gets to upper management and they tell me that a tower is being worked on.
You: EVERY TIME
You: EVERY TIMMMEEEEE!
You: So, while the towers are being worked on, since my service is crap, why should I pay for that??
You: If I was a car salesman and you came to buy a new car, but it didn't have wheels, or seats in it, and missing a transmission, would you buy the car?
Willie V.: Looking to your concern we need to discuss the issue over the phone. You will receive a call from them. Please let me know your preferred phone number to receive the call.
You: 734-560-0310.
You: So, should I expect a call in 24 hours, when the problem goes away?
You: Because thats what sprint has done to me in the past
Willie V.: No, we have arranged the call back on urgent basis. So you will receive the call back within next 2-3 hours.
You: What do I do, when they can't help me at all?
You: Switch to Verizon?
You: Because I KNOW they have killer service.
Willie V.: We understand that you may cancel the services due to this reason. However, we do not want to lose a valued customer like you. That's why we have escalated your issue and you will receive a call from the assigned analyst. They will look into your concern directly and will assist you accordingly.
You: Fine. I'm not crossing my fingers though, since I've just been down this road twice and nothing has been resolved from it.
Willie V.: I understand how this can be so frustrating. I do not like it when this happens to me.
Willie V.: We will do our best to get this issue resolved to your satisfaction.

You should know better than to try the online help for some things. Just like computer tech support you're going to get the bottom of the barrel type people testing you on ridiculous shit for starters. Wish I could offer some input but I have zero problems w/Sprint and never had to deal with anything like that. Good luck with it...

Problem is, my phone is acting up and can't hold a call for more than a few minutes before it drops it.

It isnt your phone, its Sprint. I dropped them like a bad habit a year ago and havent looked back. Their data was giving me worse than dialup speeds in the 2 years I had them. Now Im contract free and can go wherever. Fuck contracts, and fuck ETFs. Such a scam.

where did you go to get contract free? You always have the know how to do out of the box shit. You must save so much money. LOL.

I went to T-Mobile and went prepaid with an unlocked phone. A couple weeks ago I got my girlfriend a Nexus 5, and got my mom a Moto G yesterday. I started a post-paid family plan with them because T-Mo don't do them on prepaid. For the 3 of us, its $120 per month for unlimited talk and text, 2.5GB of 4G/LTE, and unlimited 3G. None of use that much data, but we can go completely unlimited for 3 of us for $150 per month if need be. After taxes it comes out to ~$45 per month each on our current plan. For unlimited 4G/LTE, it would run ~$55 per month each. Once I add my brother, itll be even less per month for each of us. FWIW, my friend and his wife pay $190 per month for 2 phones on AT&T sharing 6GB of data.

I swear, I must be magical because I haven't had shit like this happen to me through Sprint in 12 years. I wonder if it makes any difference that my number is an East coast area code? That's the only varying denominator...

My Sprint has been fine for years as well... until about 3 months ago. It's gone to hell, dropping calls like crazy. As soon as the contract is up I'm done with Sprint.

This. I used to rave about how Sprint has a rock solid network. I NEVER dropped calls. Internet was always kinda slow, but the service was awesome other than that. 3 months ago it all crashed and has been like Nextel reborn. Fucking sucks so bad.

It's funny but the truth is that dealing with them is a waste of time. The only gratifying conversation you will ever have with them is the call you make to cancel. An American who speaks fluent English will do whatever it takes to keep you as a paying customer, and you can turn them down with a smile.

I told them I felt like a sucker paying for service that wasn't 4G. I felt like an idiot for even having a 4G phone. They asked what they could do to keep me and I told them they had two options: Give me 4G, or refund 50% of the premium I paid over the last two years and reduce my bill in the future by half. He said he couldn't do that and I told him I knew he couldn't, but to me that is all that the plan was worth.

People complain constantly about it and talk of dreams of a future 4G network coming from Sprint. Newsflash - It's not coming anytime soon. They sold me on the "It will be here by the end of the year" and that was the beginning of the 3rd quarter of 2011. I kept quiet in my contract and the day I was able to leave them, I switched to ATT. I have blazing fast 4G and I have had service everywhere I've ever gone since having it. I have zero complaints, which is more than I could say about Sprint.

I am with you on that I wouldn't recommend them to an enemy.

Any company who doesn't care enough about their customers in SE Michigan to even try to work out a deal with some other Network to offer some form of 4G to their customers is basically saying "F you" to their face and that is not a company I would want to do business with. It's unacceptable to be competitively priced but not offer the same service as everybody else - I see no reason to purchase their service.

Want them to feel pain? Cancel the contract or when it's up do not renew and do not get temped by upgrading to a new flashy 4G LTE phone because you're not going to get any benefit from that phone anyway.

When they start losing customers by the thousands, watch how fast those 4G towers spring up and watch how good the service will get.

Whenever I talk to them next (they were supposed to call in 2-3 hours after I talked to that jackass..but surprise! No call yet), I'm going to ask how much to get out of my contract. I have 3 phone lines on it. One phone is out of contract now and I believe the other two have one year to go. Fuck man. I'm going to contact a Verizon rep tomorrow and see what they can offer me. Even if it's a little bit more in price, I'll be happy to pay.

ALL I WANT IS TO BE ABLE TO TALK ON MY PHONE…..LISTEN TO HOW FUCKED UP THAT SOUNDS! Hahahahaa! I pay for phone service…PHONE SERVICE THAT DOES NOT WORK! WTF?!?!?

I said the same thing.

Give att a call too. My brother, sister and I are on the same plan and I pay 65 for my share with 3gb. That's with a 20% discount though. He pays like 50 cause he only has 300mb.

Ok cool thanks so it's worth paying the 300 to get out of my contract....... How much is a nexus phone?

Sprint has a chart on their website about how much your ETF would be considering how many months you are in to a contract. Nexus 5 phones are $350 for a 16gb or $400 for 32gb. I got my mom a Moto G for Christmas, it's like a "poor man's" Nexus and they're $200 outright for a 16gb. It's an excellent phone, I actually like it more than my Nexus 4. The battery life is incredible.
