Channel 4 Undercover - Ford Employees boozin it up

DBK and everyone else I would like to apologize for my incentive comment about my pay. It was uncalled for as I was just irritated that someone would say my job could be done by a chimp. As funny as it would be to watch a chimp play around in a substation with 13.2 Kvolts and blow himself up. I have put my time in at school and training plus licensed thru the state as a Journeyman Electrician. I really would like to give my opinion on the UAW but I really dont articulate myself well in the written word.

No problem everyone gets fired up from time to time...agree or disagree.

I'm sure we'd all have a grand 'ol time at a bar together...that is if us working guys took the day off...what's the best time again? Anytime between 11am and 4pm and you guys will be there waiting???

Okay I kid I kid...noon to 4pm because the only thing happening at 11am is the drunken stooper to the shower...on the clock of course! ;)

haha I work 7pm to 4am depending on the day...and here I am on the computer so we all abuse the system to a certain extent...except I'm only making less than a half of what you are!! lol

You can argue all you want but the louder you yell the more you support my statement of jealousy. I'm sorry I was lucky enough to get a job in the UAW. Good or Bad. It does what it does. The members benefit. Now you can be happy for the ones that do or talk shyt and look jealous. :dontknow:

I know a couple guys that work at the ford axle building in Warren. they tell me that people punch in and go sleep in their cars or pull a Copperfield till the end of the shift . It sounds like a pretty decent gig if you can get away with it.

Jealous of what? Please answer that for me because you must think what you make is ground-breaking or something? I am just angry that you make what you do when they could pay someone half and get just as much output. That's what is killing the American OEMs. But you don't want to hear that.

I don't think 50k+ (average entry-level Mechanical Engineer) is too bad of a start for a 22 year old like myself fresh out of college...I've never been jealous of anything or anyone in my life...if I want something, I work my ass off and get it. I'm sure DBK is real jealous as well as he cruises off in his 200k supercar wishing he could join the union. lol RIGHT!

Add in my advanced degree, professional engineering license, and my MBA in the next four to five years and I'll be finding ways to get rid of you union guys for a living! Can't wait! ;)

You know LTLHomer, for someone that claims to be as educated as yourself, you are one of the dumbest fucks I've ever heard. There are alot of other people in the union that aren't line workers. There are nurses, ENGINEERS, designers, administration, and many other different jobs. Before you go saying that a monkey can do every union job out there, you better get your head outta your ass and think. I'd like to see you come do my job.

There are those of us that complain about the lazy know good fucking people, but management is so sick and tired of not being able to do anything, they tell us to go away. There are people that are in the unions that don't want to be, but don't have choice. I'm a designer for Chrysler and work in the same cubicle's that you do.

Hey outlaw, guess what, if my free ride is over I guess your family is going to be starving along with mine if your job depends so much on the automotive industry.

as long as you know who dropped the ball. Are you saying that the union is helping the big three? If so tell me how its helping sell american cars......Oh and by the way my family will never starve because unlike you union assholes i would work my hands to the fucking bone if i had to at minimum wage to feed and provide for my family. Instead of having a strike and throw rocks at people that wanna work...

Okay, here's how it works at the sunion shops I deal with. A guy is a slacker, no good piece of crap, the supervisor( if he has any brains) keeps a record of reprimands, council sessions, write ups, etc. and when the guy violates a
portion of the contract that stipulates terminatin, the supervisor does his job and terminates the employee. The union grieves the case. All the company has to do is this: REPLY TO THE UNION......"TAKE THE GRIEVANCE TO ARBITRATION" The arbitrator will look over the employee's rcord and side with the company. Problem is that the company doesn't follw the letter of the contract. Why not? you ask? Too complicated for them I guess.


And the reason the union defends the slacker employee? Bound by law to or suffer possible lawsuit.
