Changes to the coupe

Finally got all the little electrical bugs sorted out and drove the car! :rockwoot:

Holy $h!t ! ! !

went for a quick trip during lunch with Gumby and I was very happy with how it drives.......

Took it out this evening with my pops and took it up to about 5K RPM....wow...My N/A setup was cool and all, but this thing is nuts.:w00t:

Thanks guys! Now i just need to get some boost into it (Only making 5 lbs right now)....but I think I am going to play it safe for a while so I don't hurt myself. LOL

Car is bad ass Steve. Plus, you can stop at any gas station and fill it up. Very nice!

Trans brakes are pretty cool huh? Can't wait to see what it does at the track.

Congrats!

Thanks Matt, it's nice to finally drive the car.

Awesome Steve!!

Thanks again Joe. Gonna add the speedo sensor today, finish wiring in the 3 step, and start mounting the CO2 tank for the boost controller. And I think I will put the 10# spring in the gate. :w00t:

If you get bored I will be working on it damn near all day....

Haha yeah!! Filling it at the pump is great...$30 is way better than 100-150 bucks at a time to FILL it up.

The t-brake is pretty damn cool...definately not like a clutch. Oh, and Hutch was very happy with the temps we are seeing...actually said that it seems quite cool for how much and how I was driving it. He just said not to panic if I really get on it and it burries the needle!

looking good.

Thanks buddy!

Thanks for letting me stop by and check out the car Steve! Sounds great and I'm sure it'll run just as good.

First trip to the track with the new setup was a success!!!

After switching back to the slicks and getting some of the "newbie to turbo's" bugs out of me, we ran a best of 10.18 @ 131 with a soft 1.48 60ft and only 6 psi boost, short shifting and damn near no timing....and I found out that I did not have it at WOT for all of 1st gear ;)

These passes were on 93 octane pump gas.

Can't wait to go back.

Thanks to Jim Monson and Joe P. today at the track for all the help!

Nice showing for the first time driving an automatic AND turbo powered drag car! Lot's of potential left yet, just wait 'till Jim cranks it up to 20+ psi with some good fuel in it :rockwoot:

Wish I could have been more help, but I did manage to sunburn myself beyond recognition. Ouch. :gr_jest:

Oh, I just re-checked the data logs and I actually shifted at 6100 RPM!!! 7500 RPM shifts should help too ;)

She left harder without the turbo ;)

Once you get it sorted out that thing should be scary.

Yeah, the stick did leave harder....for now :)

Once we get some boost in it, it should be fun....Hell it's fun now. LOL The car is very easy to drive now (not so violent, especially between gears), it's just the staging that is a bit tricky right now. But most of the trouble was caused by some rev limits that will be sorted out before we go back tot he track.

Staging and the burnout looked difficult. Other than that it moved the hell out. I am glad you guys are sorting out the turbo thing. Once I can afford to do it you guys will have done all the legwork ;)

Awesome job! That car is beautiful to boot.
