Boy Scouts?? NOPE!

Due to girls joining they are dropping “boy” and going by “scouts”......

Is the Girl Scouts doing the same??

I must be stupid, I always thought there was Boy Scouts for boys and Girl Scouts for girls

Must be a gender identity thing?

This is a conservative-minded rant so if you're a liberal or overly PC please tune out...you've been warned! This move is part of the overall liberal strategy to destroy the fabric of our nation. Make no mistake, this is just another step to destroying scouting altogether. They can't completely control churches (yet), so they will try to destroy teaching morality, values, self-reliance, teamwork, leadership and reverence however they can. With this move it is their goal to have scouting wither on the vine and fade away. They have already been assaulting family values for years and teaching overwhelmingly liberal BS in our schools and universities. If everything is upside down, no right, no wrong, no definite genders, no God then it is easier to sell the useful idiots anything you want...socialism, communism, the great religion of environmentalism above all else...whatever. It's how you get people to think things like the Iran nuclear deal is a good deal. It's how you get a president like Obama. It's how you get people to believe that white males and the United States are the cause of all evil in the world. If you haven't seen the pattern of degradation that has taken place in this country over the last 50 or so years you either are 1. Too young to have seen it, 2. Mentally deficient or 3. one of the brainwashed. I love scouting and was an assistant scoutmaster while my son was in. This is a very sore subject for me and is just the latest thread to break in our nation's unraveling fabric. News flash...boys and girls are different from birth, it should be perfectly fine to have separate boy scouts and girl scouts and people that can think rationally understand this. Make no mistake, this move is part of an agenda. It has nothing to do with equality, equal opportunity, etc. Rant off.

To be clear, boys and girls will be separated into different troops. My son's troop has multiple female leaders who are great teachers. I'm taking a "wait and see" attitude to the whole announcement/change and not getting all worked up over what will probably turn out to be a non-issue when there are only a handful of girls who want to join the Boy Scouts of America.

I still confused as to why the girls couldnt just join the Girl Scouts and do the same things as the Boy Scouts. That chart is essentially exactly that. Does the membership money/profits go to the same place for Girl and Boy Scouts?
