Beast of a bitch barstool racer

080 reduced.jpg081 reduced.jpg

So here is a quick update. We have the rear hubs and rims sized. Still need the front spindles to assemble the fronts. After Christmas we'll get the rest finished up.

Lmao that is insane! You ever crash one due to the high center of gravity?

They are so bottom heave due to the 1/8" thick steel construction that they are actually pretty stable. This one is mine and it has a small system on it too. You can only do short bursts because you still need to stop the beast.

The old saying " hey hold my beer" really applies with these though. I had one that someone got stupid on and it tossed him off like a rodeo bull. You don't want to let anyone just take it for a ride. But then again, you wouldn't just hand the keys to your hotrod car to someone to take it for a rip.

Don't know of a more worthy candidate for a full cage than this.

I so would kill myself on that damn thing.

I ordered everything else to finish it this weekend. Tires, spindles and the real cushion for the barstool. Should have everything this week.:nerd:

I took an Otterbox defender Iphone belt mount and cut the clip off and made these two brackets to clamp around the handle bars and hold the phone mount out of some scrap aluminum stock I had. This will allow me to see the speed with an app I have downloaded. I'll put something on the back side to hide the band saw marks later. Maybe a polished plate, or even some left over wide black striping material I have laying around. I'm still waiting for the tires to arrive from the Left coast.

So it took three weeks to get the tires out of California. They showed up and are all cosmetic blemish tires!!! The one pictured had a slice in the side wall and chunks missing from the tread. I was PISSED!!!

The place is going to replace them all with good ones, but I have to send them back and wait for them to come back again. :headscrat

Any favorite websites that you source your parts from? I'm just getting ideas together for a minibike project or two.

I buy a lot of parts from BMI karts and modify them to work for me. They have decent prices. For the engine kits, I use NR Racing. He builds pro karting engines and is really nice to work with. Russell is his name.

So the tires finally showed up. We had them mounted up and put the rear ones on to set the ride height level. Then I set up the front tires and tacked the spindles in place.

Then we took it all apart and finish welded the front spindle brackets in place. My crew chief and I put it back to together again to see how it looked and sat. This is where we left off yesterday. We still have some parts to fab up for the wing in the rear, but otherwise its off to polishing and painting it.

That thing is bad ass!!! Nice work!!!

And another good word for BMI Karts, I bought a lot of stuff from him when I was building minibikes.

image.jpg I rebuilt the rear wing to have larger sides that are removable to make it easier to polish the whole thing.

The yellow rope is to determine the length of the nitrous pressure gauge line.

Awesome. Wonder what the top speed for this one will be.

The last one went 52mph on the gps. I figure this one to be pretty close to that. I have a lot more billet stuff made on this one, so it's probably a bit heavier. Not to mention my own weight gain. :icon_drin
