Back to the Bricks Car Show Mid MI?

I've heard of it. But yeah, sime time as Dream Cruise so never really considered going at all. It has been on top of WW for as long as I've known of it.

I've heard of it and been up there the week before. It's a smaller scale WWDC, but the people in the Flint/Burton/Grand Blanc area love it. It's actually a decent show.

The WWDC SUCKS!

the ONLY good thing is the last day when they shut it down and you're in FLINT! CHAOS ENSUES!

sounds like you arent experiencing the right parts of the dream cruise. its something i look forward to all year long.

I've been the last few years bacause my work schedule has not allowed me time to go to WW. If your into traffic jams you'll love it. The 2 days leading up to it you can actually cruise and get a little action here and there. For the most part it's mostly a bunch of low class people acting their part.

It is gaining in popularty pretty quick actually, I usually head up there the days before woodward with my dad its is a pretty decent show and alot of people actually preferr it over wwdc

There were a handful of people trying to ruin the Back to the Bricks Cruise night, but with so many police around they really got jumped on quickly. It does get pretty crowded by the end of the week. Saturday you have to show up early to get a good spot for the car show but you will see as much variety as Woodward with the exception of no Superbirds on the Bricks, but pretty much everything else from street legal drag cars with injection stacks popping out the hood to pimped out hearses, and last year a Chevy V-8 MG powered parked next to me.

My dad has been every year, lives in GB. He loves it takes the vette out every year. But he goes early in the week then comes down here for wdc. As others have said, a lot of riff raff the last couple of years there has been many arrests

Interesting. I have a friend that is coming up from Chicago with a few of his buddies and they want to hit both. I told them I was not interested in going to Flint and after these comments I think I was right but if there is anymore feedback bring it on?

Saturday is a pretty good time, but you have to get there real early if you want to park on saginaw street. The cruising part is pretty slow moving, and a lot of the police are supertroopers, but I havent had a problem yet anyway. this pic is from the saturday car show on the bricks.

I've taken several of my cars there over the last 15-20 years:
'69 mustang
'70 mustang
Dodge Avenger with Chromalusion paint
Ford Lightning
Shinoda Boss Mustang (friends)

This year i'll have the '67 mustang.

WWDC is a traffic jam, full of people that have no right to be in the cruise. There are thousands of nice cars, unfortunately, there are tens of thousands of regular cars. It should be anything younger than 20 years old is prohibited from the 2 cruise lanes. (yes including newer "sport" cars or rare cars).

At least at a car show you walk around you know it is limited to certain cars. WWDC is spoiled by hoopties, modern cars, and mini-vans.

I think what Casey is talking about is the fact there is a whole other side to WWDC that most might not know of. We usually don't leave Port Huron untill 8 or so at night. Get down there just in time to watch people act crazy for a little bit in Pontiac untill they shut it down. Hang out and wait a little while untill the cops leave and head back out, So many cars come back out to cruise after hours no traffice just a bunch of guy out cruising and usually down to play around a little bit. Head out as the night gets later and catch some of the street racing at a few of the spots and then head back to WW for a final lap with Lars around 6 am who always manages to run into us lol

Now that sounds interesting!

The best cruising there is happens after the cops shut it down and then leave. There has been times we have literaly just roll/stoplight raced different cars all the way from the loop to damn near 8 mile in a group of cars 10 or better that kept rotating with a few blower cars and a few turbo cars, It is a fucking blast, If your interested in meeting up this year and checking it out, Just let me know.

x2 for the last 4 years Ive left the GTO off Woodward on Saturday. Living so close it's too convenient to park the nice cars in the yard and walk to Woodward for a little bit. Far more enjoyable to hang out with friends and family at the house and randomly walk up to Woowdward between drinks.

The way to go is get out early on Friday during the day when all the displays are out and open on WDC.

I went the past few years. I drug my feet hard, being loyal to the WWDC, but finally gave in. I had a great time. It was cool because all the residents and businesses are into it. Sort of like they were at the beginning of the WWDC. LOL I like how it is supported for the entire week. I live 6 miles from Grand Blanc, so I will be out there with the truck again.

Flint isn't the most popular place by any means. A while back it beat out detroit for murders and Flint is a fractioin of the size of detroit. In any case I went to the show once. It was laid back and a decent turn out back in '06 I believe. As for WWDC, it's rediculous to drive the actual day of the cruise. The past 3 years I've gone its rained. So Im not really planning to go this year. I will be out cruisin the week before though. I'll have to see what pans out before I make any plans for the day of the woodward cruise.
