You can't be serious, you must not be in touch with used vehicle prices. In good condition, a 2010 F-150 will still pull $20-30K in 6 years.

Auto co's get your heads out of your asses! Sure I would love to buy a new F-150. For what it costs I can buy 3 nice homes in the metro area. Or one really nice one. Or... you paying attention Ford,Gm,Chry....A new truck that will be worth $2000. bucks in 6years and wore out. Don't get me wrong your return is far better on a truck than an appliance of a FWD car they are pushing on us. Just for shits and gigles I went to the Ford site and "build and priced" one of those new Focus's. (I need a driver for the old lady) To get one optioned thats worth a shit your talking $25-$30K. The car won't be worth $500.00 in 6-7years. Does anyone else feel the same way. I'm tired of bitching about seeing Dawoo's and Kia's driving around the motor city, but I know why. It's not because people around here don't want to buy American they cant afford to. Looking at my mans lease deals on here makes me think while the pricing seems to be in line with whats aval. now. What happened to 4 x 4 extended cab 1/2 ton ram hemi for $99. a month? All of the auto makers were offering stupid leases like this before, why not now?

Because the companies were losing money on those vehicles & went bankrupt.

You can get a Focus for *FAR* less than $25K. You can get a nicely equipped Fusion for less than that.

Did a search on Auto trader for Kia's within 500 miles of my zip (48316) there was one for sale, I'm assuming the others are in the scrap yard. 2008 Kia Rio with 42K miles for $7,800 no special options. I also searched for a 2008 Ford Focus and found the average price to be $11,500 (25 miles from my zip) with the lowest to be $6,500.

If your argument is that you can get a cheap foreign car, you can get an American car in the same price point but I truly believe the quality of Ford surpasses the Kia tenfold. If your argument is that the American cars don’t hold their value well the average price of the cars I searched is $11,500.

I can only speak for myself but an American car is the only one I will ever buy. I have never been disappointed of any car I have owned. I have even turned down Kias and other foreign cars when I rent. I work for the big 3 I support the big 3!

I agree the deals 91 trunk has going are great compared to current going rate. Almost every single thing you will ever buy new is going to lose most of its value as soon as you pay for it. I guess you don't buy anything new, computers, televisions, funiture, diswashers........

In addition to the fact that almost everything depreciates, you are throwing out a whole bunch of bullshit numbers. Then when someone points out that used trucks sell for north of 20k, you tell us how you wouldnt pay that much for one. Guess what, who cares? If the majority of people looking for a used truck werent willing to pay that price, it wouldnt cost that much. You are out of touch, and apparently in the minority.
