What happened to 4 x 4 extended cab 1/2 ton ram hemi for $99. a month? All of the auto makers were offering stupid leases like this before, why not now?

You answered your own question. Those leases WERE stupid. Great for the consumer, stupid for Chrysler. It was a house of cards, designed purely to keep product moving and plants busy, and it was destined to fail. Which it did.

I can spend $5 to bake a cake and sell them for $1. I'll get lots of orders, sell lots of cakes, and eventually go bankrupt.
