I see. If most things are coming off with windex and a towel, that's a good sign. I'd still recommend a little APC and a couple of brushes to physically agitate those stubborn areas, which you can then wipe clean.

ok its getting clean, Now does anybody make a good aerosol spray wax Im not crazy enough to use paste wax on the bottom of the car, I just want something to help make it easier to clean, in the future

Go to your local store and purchase a bottle of Meguiar's Ultimate Quick Wax (yellow Nissan GT-R on the front of the black bottle). It's a synthetic product (sealant) with decent durability (won't be an issue to something that won't have sun hitting it), and is quite slick. Mist and wipe around and you'll be good. Once done, you can use it after your normal washes to improve gloss, slickness, and protection as well. :)

Bump. Spring time is almost here. I am getting ancy!

Ordered up a Foamaster II to use this year for soaking. Got a HELL of a deal on it.

Just need to find a good shampoo to use with it.

Just talked to you about this, but for everyone else, I recommended:

Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Clear
Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss
Optimum Car Wash

For use in a foam-gun.

I've had really good luck with Meguiar's Gold Class, but the best luck with Meg's NXT car shampoo. It foams like crazy and the smell alone is worth it. For $6/bottle, it's a steal.

I like the NXT shampoo!

Say you run into leather that looks like this.

In the past I have used the 1 to 10 woolite and water and a leather brush. What do you suggest for very soiled leather?

Try some Leatherique Pristine Clean. Break out the toothbrush, it'll take some scrubbing.

Prestine Clean can work - but in a case where the leather has that much old grime, I'd go right to the Leatherique Conditioner and let that stuff sit on a seat overnight first. Then come back with Prestine Clean or diluted Woolite to remove the gunky residue, and you'll have some amazing looking leather.

You could just keep with your diluted woolite and a brush of course. It'll take a bit more work, but it should be able to achieve quite stellar results!

Any idea how to remove road paint? I bought this car and the last owner did not remove the paint when it happened. I tried wd-40 without success.

Thanks,

Oh no!

Sorry to say, but I don't know. I'd think there's a away to do it in a somewhat safe matter. You might even be able to call a local road department and ask them for tips. If you find anything out, please let me know as I'd benefit from the knowledge as well.

I have used a little paint thinner and deluted it with water. It worked for me and didn't do anything to the factory paint.

I used a little paint thiner on a few spots but was worried about it harming the paint. I found a cleaner that is specifically for road paint. I will let you know how it goes.

Thinner shouldn't damage anything because your factory paint isn't lacquer based - it's chemically cured paint. So rest easy in that regard and gl!

I used this stuff called Go Clean Off Clean that is made for road paint removal. Was not cheap at $30/bottle but after letting it sit for 15 minutes the paint started to come off. 2 more applications and it was gone so I am happy with the results.

Try the 3m addhesive remover. Dont rb to hard as rag will leave scratchs. I have used it to remove dried house paint on cars, will need to polish lightly and wax when done.
