MSU Racing Club Spring Car Show

With this snow and salt on the road, I'm out.
Is there one later in the year?

When is the Green and White game?

Snow and salt shouldn't be an issue by the time Saturday rolls around, should it? We don't have an actual car show later in the year, but we have our Cider Run in the Fall. A much smaller event (and more of a "cruise" than a show), but still fun. Spring Football Game is next Saturday, the 26th.

Today is the last day to pre-register for the event! Remember, pre-registration is OPTIONAL (i.e., you can still register the day of the event), but it is more convenient, and it gets you a printed entry form. If you wish to pre-register, send an email to [email protected] with your name, year/make/model, class (if your car fits in multiple classes, please choose one), whether or not you're a student, and any additional vehicle info you'd like printed on your sheet. Send your registration payment via paypal to [email protected]

Saturday's forecast! :D

Important PSA: we have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for burnouts and/or speeding on campus. This is an awesome event, and we would hate to have MSU police shut it down because of people recklessly breaking the law on campus. So PLEASE, be on your BEST behavior so we can stay on MSUPD's good side and we can keep enjoying this event for years to come. Please help spread the word!

See you tomorrow! :D

I'll be there but not with my car. I'll probably be in my 3Balls Racing shirt with my wife + son in a stroller.

I'll be there - coming with some people from the tri-city area. If you see the blue FR-S and a big guy wearing a teal/yellow hoodie, come say hi :)

BTW, had a great time at the show...very well done. Only thing that may have been better was more people signing people in at the beginning, or the ability for people to preregister AND print out their window paper ahead of time. Everything else was great though - awesome layout, great setting. The turnout was phenomenal...all sorts of things from Gallardos to classic Mustangs and everything in between. Loved seeing the RSR team car - would be awesome to get more actual race cars out there next year if possible (really wish they would have done the loud exhaust competition :) ). You guys should really be proud of putting that together.

I did notice at the end that space was getting kind of tight - any plans to maybe move it to the Breslin center next year?

I think there was some confusion on the part of the people giving out sheets. There were printed sheets made for everyone who pre-registered, but not all of the people who pre-registered were given their sheets for some reason. The first question they should have been asked was "did you pre-register?" Then if so, given the proper sheet and they would have been on their way. Goes to show that if I want something done how I want it done, sometimes I should just do it myself  I probably should have been doing that instead of entering registrations at the tent.

Actually, that lot holds a lot more cars than the Breslin Center lot. The Bres may look bigger, but it's not laid out as efficiently. To go to a bigger lot, we would have to go to the commuter lots to the south, and we would completely lose the atmosphere that being right in the middle of campus provides. It would also be more difficult to control traffic flow, and we would have more problems with other cars already parked being in our way. I think the stadium lot will be the home of the show moving forward. I think the show has grown to the point that we can still manage it, but if it got much bigger, it would become extremely difficult for our club to run it smoothly with the manpower at our disposal.
