Theoretical top speed has nothing to do with actual top speed, it's just where the top gear rev limit puts you for speed. With a 3.31 I would suspect it is in the range of 270 in 6th gear. I'm also betting the 202 actual top speed occurs in 5th, not 6th. I don't think anything with a T-56/TR-6060 has ever been faster stock in 6th gear than 5th.
Is it still a 6060? It stands up to that 631 lb-ft?
GT500 in at 20whp more than ZL1 bhp.
GM will have to bump the ZR1 to 700bhp for the ZL1 to compete.
Nick
How do you define "Compete"? My guess is that the GT500 couldn't compete with the ZL1, so Ford had to keep the times secret. And lets not beat around the bush, Ford went to the ring a couple weeks ago, got times, and they aren't telling anyone. They are keeping them secret.
The funny thing is, there are people that know what they ran, but SVT has decided the consistent gold mine of ass hurt whining from Al O. and Team Massive Napoleon Complex makes it much better to just give people the car and say "have at it."
I remember when SVT issued that press release that said "we went 11.52@127 at the drag strip and managed to get a sub-3.5 0-60 out of the car, which is a completely different performance league than ZL1." Oh wait...
All I hear is blah blah blah no numbers from the Ring trip. You want me to post the video or are you going to deny it was even there?
I'm sorry, again, did you see SVT running out and publishing all the other numbers with which the GT500 beats the ZL1 over the head?
Keep hope alive brother!
'Ring trip = cock measuring.
That is all.
So you are saying that Ford put a car on a plane, sent it to Germany, sent drivers and engineers over there, all just to run a time and then keep it secret? What did that junket cost - like $100,000? $200,000? Just for secret numbers!
Not saying it isn't. Just saying the GT500 didn't beat the ZL1's time. Or Ford would have been screaming it from the rooftops. Like they have been doing with all the other numbers.

You do realize they've been there dozens of times with dozens of cars and without publishing a time for any of them right? :jagoff:
Again, can you please point me to the press release where SVT stated all the numbers including every acceleration metric and braking measure that the GT500 beats the shit out of the ZL1 with? Thanks!
Maybe you just simulated those on your computer?
(see thread title)
They have? Man, I must have missed that memo. If anything, SVT has been quiet with the release of the car. Al, Joel, and the other GM fucksticks were running their mouth a lot more than Jamal and his Ford counterparts. The only thing I've seen in terms of smack was from old man Shelby saying it would "kick the hell" out of anything on the street.
So they went and then kept it secret? That is the best you got?
-Geoff
Actually, there is NO difference between keeping it secret and not releasing it. SAME THING.Keeping it secret? Lay off the drugs man. There's a difference between not releasing it and keeping it secret.
I have a bet with DBK about the ring time. So I care. DBK cares because he does not want the time to come out, because he knows it is slower. If they haven't released it yet, who cares?
You're making it sound like it's a controversy like Area 51. I don't know the time, but I'd like to hear it, better or worse than the ZL1.
