aod convertor question

I have a 302/aod i am putting in my truck..but the converter will not mate up with the crank. THe end of the crank is a smaller diameter than the lump in the middle of the converter.
Are there different types of convertors for different year? Anyone have a clue WTF I am talking about?:lol:

Is there a pilot bushing stuck in the back of the cranksahft ? was the truck a manual transmission before ?

and fords use a spacer in the crank to fit a piolot bushing, make sure that is out as well

Thanks guy. I was frustrated and completely forgot it was a manual before. The bushing is probably still in there.

Call me a dumbass, but I can not tell if there is a bushing in here. It doesnt look like it, but there is a small lip in there at the front that looks like a separate part...but i'm not sure what that end of a ford crank looks like.
