Anyone familiar with LT1 f-bodies looking to make some money?

I've been quite busy with school and work and haven't had much time to work on my car. I have a few things that I'm stuck on that I could use some experienced help with, and really I can use all the help in general to get the car back together as I'd love to make the Dream Cruise but that might be a lofty goal. I have 95% of the parts and it's really something that could probably be done over the course of a solid weekend thrash.

What I really need help with the most is getting the timing set back on the engine properly and the rockers lashed. I know it's not rocket science, but I've never done it before and the engine is already together and I don't want to make any mistakes with finding the proper TDC, etc. Also, it's a solid roller cam and I've never adjusted lash before which I understand is very much a "feel" thing. If someone can do this ASAP I have the cash waiting with your name on it.

In addition to that, I'd love to find someone who's familiar with LT1s and F-bodies who can work on the car in my absence as soon as possible, ideally to have it back together before the cruise but if not at least with some time to still drive it this season. I'm short on time and am having a hard time getting motivated in my off hours, but I also can't move the car because of its state of disassembly. I'm willing to pay a reasonable wage but unfortunately the work would have to be done where the car is currently at in Livonia. The car is on a lift FWIW and I have basic hand/air tools available if needed.

Or, if anyone's feeling generous and just wants to lend an experienced set of hands to help me with the wrenching, beer and pizza is on me at the minimum.

I really want to get this thing done soon so if anyone can help me with any of the above, or know someone who could, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Man I wish you were closer. I'd help you out but livinia is way outta the way with slot of the shit I have going on.

I know that car inside and out. There is no easier engine to time than an LT1. Put the crank gear at 12 oclock and the cam gear at 6 oclock. Once it's lined up the opti only goes on one way, making it difficult to screw up.

What kind of adjuster nuts do you have? Do you have poly locks? Lash is a simple process man, shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. If you can't run it warm you may need to adjust it cold and then heat it up, then adjust it again. No big deal though, I had to do it on mine. Doesn't take a lot of time.

Hahahahaha @ Kevin. I can lash and have the tools if kevin can throw a timing set on properly.

No opti, not sure if the 24x piece only goes on one way, but if it's that easy then awesome. As for the lash, it's a solid roller with shaft rockers. I know it's not a difficult process, but there's a certain "feel" as far as the resistance when sliding the feeler gauges in and out to make sure it's accurate. I'd love to have someone who's done it before do it so I can then learn what the proper "feel" is so I can do it in the future.

Denny, that would be great!

You have a setup that has eliminated the opti?

I can help out with wrenching if you end up needing it. I'm in Westland near Livonia too.

Yes sir. It's not cheap, but at the time I needed to a new opti & all new ignition components so this was only a couple hundred $$ more and completely worth it. It also has a higher rpm capability than the factory pcm.
