Anyone ever use watson racing(brownstown) for tuning?

And new guys wonder why they don't get no R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Heck I consider myself a new guy!!

As for the communication issues mentioned by squidd: I count at least 9 references in red2004's own account of some sort of contact. Either him calling them, or them calling him. This is BEFORE he picked the car up and had his wife start calling. All this going on and he never ONCE thought to ask "Where are we at on the bill?" They never said "If you want us to keep fixing these problems, it's running up your bill."? ALL of you failed to think about this?? Are you kidding me?
Lesson for all: Communication.

Next lesson: Take responsibility for YOUR build. Yes, you have a right to expect quality workmanship. But in this situation, they have to work with whatever WE give them to work with. red2004 stated that he was in a hurry to get the car done for Woodward. I cannot help but feel that this likely resulted in some of the issues.

The level of workmanship done by Watson in this instance sounds pretty bad no matter how bad the car was when it showed up. The communication issues have been beaten to death on both sides. I DO fault the Watson guys for the way they responded when the issues surfaced. NOT having the data generated by the dyno runs is not acceptable, no matter how much power was (Or wasn't.) made.

I hate seeing this crap. I don't like seeing anyone get screwed over. I also hate the fact that I WANT Watson to be a good resource for us Downriver guys, and I am discouraged by all this. As much as I have confidence in Watson as a company, (And my getting the car ready for dyno) I question the guy who he has tuning cars.

I agree with you on most of this but im not no tuning pro or mechanic so I would think a mechanic if they found a problem they would call the customer and advise them of the problem and then ask if its ok if they diagnose the problem at whatever rate they charge and then go from there. But thats not what happened in my case. I really think they just blew smoke up my ass on telling me there were problems with the car and were just buying time to finish all of whatever other projects they had going on.....but then I got tired of the b.s. and said im coming to get my car and then thats when they wanted to try tuning it and did a halfass job and then tried handing it back to me without seeing there work until they were paid.

They just recently opened up the retail and dyno tuning side. I can tell you that they build 6 or 8 sets of headers for me over the years. Gary Cook worked over there at the time. He did probably half of them. Perfect every time. They have done countless fabrication jobs for me over the many years I have dealt with them. Not to mention all the racecars they have built over the past 7 years.

Nobody is questioning there fabricating skills....just saying.

I would love to hear Watson's side. So next time you talk to your buddies over there, Jason, tell them they are welcome to come on here and post up their side. Sending buddies to troll here is frowned upon though.

I know I dont have any problem with that....even though I think theres already a couple here

Did the car make more power with the tune from yesterday? Even with the bad pump

No, which he does not know how they produced the numbers they had printed.....but I will tell you there is a night and day difference in the way the car drives and sounds.....so much healthier.

And for the people that are mad because I posted my EXPERIENCE with watson, doesnt everyone like to hear reviews??? Are people that give reviews on products, vehicles, etc....just bashing them. I just know if I was going to spend my hard earned money I would hope people like me are out there. But then again this is just my opinion on my experience. ....so take it for what its worth......if I wouldnt have started this thread asking if anyones ever used them for tuning I probably wouldnt of let anyone know my experience. ...but my buddy felt that I should let everyone know, which Im glad I did now.

That response was mainly for a couple of people that had asked about their background and if anyone else here had done business with them.

I AM one of the guys who asked you about the experience you had there, and I am glad that you posted it up. As disappointed as I am with the resulting shitstorm, I think many people, including Watson Racing and all their subsequent customers, will benefit from this. I was hoping to have that shop as a resource for the Downriver guys. Myself included.

Oh I know I was really praying that everything was going to be awesome, it would be nice to have a local tuner, plus I got an instant stiffy when I seen a handful of cobra jets and that 302s race car....would have been sweet to hang out in there.

I totally agree. It makes this a better site, and it will hopefully make them a better vendor. That is why it burns me when trolls come in here and we don't even have both sides.
