I am thinking about renting an RV to drive to Denver. I have never taken an RV anywhere and don't know if it might be more of a pain than it is worth?
you are crazy right? Most RV rentals are not one way
Id drive and take the long way what you would save in fuel and rv costs would pay for nice hotels

This is my philosophy. I passed so many rented RVs in the black hills and in Colorado. Fuck that. I'll drive something small and fun, get triple the gas mileage, and spend my fuel and RV rental savings on Pricelined hotels and save hundreds of dollars. Also note passed a shit ton of rented RVs. Meaning I'll get to what I want to see faster and have more time to spend seeing it.
idea #1 leave dog with family have it shipped out later
Our concern is space we would be traveling with 5 people (me, wife, 7yr old, 5yr old, 3 month old and Dog). Which is alot in a car for 20 hrs.
Dog also creates issue with certain hotels or them wanting to charge me an extra $75 a night.
75 a night is criminal...how do they justify!
Rent a van travel in comfort sight see. To much work to buy and drive an RV then sell it.
The flight is rational thing to do but seems also hectic.

The other alternative is to find any hotel you want, just be near a PetSmart that has the dog hotel. they are open till 9 and open at 630am, so you could drop teh dog off for the night (usually about 20 to 25/night) and get it in the morning. Any type of dog boarding would do. Just need to carry copies of the dog's shots (including a bordetella shot within the last 6 months).
