i rented a 24foot RV for a week in florida. it was over $1500 to rent it, plus anywhere from $45-60 a night at campgrounds. got about 8-9 mpg ford e450 v10. i say rent a van or big suv and either hotel it or buy some tents and rough it at state campgrounds. its cheaper for tent spots then rv spots.
