Anyone a carpenter/builder?

My wife and I want a patio covering built across the back of our house. Approx 35ft x 8ft. Does anyone here do this kind of work or know someone who does? I think wood will be cheaper than a metal awning, but we are open to suggestions. We do not want a canvas covering, it needs to be permanent. I will also get a homeowner permit from the city.

Located in Westland. Inkster and Ann Arbor Trail.
