Any video camera experts here??

I'm looking to pick up a new camera and need some advice. I've been looking at Sony because I have had good luck with them in the past, but I'm open to suggestions. Here is what I was looking at until I read a couple of the reviews that said the vid quality blows.

The only thing I want this thing to do is take GOOD vids, at the drag strip, when my kid acts goofy, and I want one with an internal hard drive with some reasonable space for around $400.

Any help is much appreciated and everyone here will be rewarded with sweet drag racing footage throughout the year.:icon_bigg
 
we just picked up a JVC Everio GZ-MG330...at ABC in November...$299.99....and we both love it so far.

Good video quality? I would think anything modern would be better than the old school shit I had, which I am happy with on a TV. I just cant hook it up to a computer.
