Another dang Mustang build thread...

Looks good Derrick. Saw the race car sitting outside recently. My daughter lives around the corner.

Had to move the cars all around while working on the garage, nice having a big driveway though to put crap in. Feel free to stop by and grab a beer/bullshit if you see me out there at all.

I love the look of this car.. its like dirty.. in a good way

haha the look has definitely grown on me, I keep getting shit to paint it from the ole' lady but I think it might just stay ugly for this season too.

Few updates:

Motor is 90% done, started installing the last minute upgrade (belt drive) last night, just have to do some clearance work on the oil pan (F'in rods hit everything) and valve covers then its ready to go in the car.

Coils showed up as well

Got the belt drive installed.

I really wan'st happy about fitting the oil pan as I had to pretty much cut the entire crank scraper out of it and the windage screen had to get some serious modifications as it all was being hit by the rod ends. Had to knock the oil pump and pick up tube bolting plate as well. Took some work, by far the most crap I've ever had to do to put a oil pan on lol but its all good now.

Just waiting on the front motor plate, timing pointer and shims to show up and I can start hanging the fuel pump, balancer, trigger wheel, etc..

Been kicking around what EFI I wanted to use and finally decided on the Holley dominator EFI. Never messed with one but the software is super user friendly, way easier to use than the BS3 adn by far cheaper to run a methanol set-up with the more options for far cheaper than the BS3

Motors in the car for mock up. Quickly learned that there is no fricken room in this thing to fit a BBF, two large frame turbos and all the supporting items without ease. Should be a fun puzzle to make it all fit and still maintain some form of work-ability without having to tear all kinds of stuff apart. One thing I hate is a car that was built without the over-site that it has to be worked on, valve springs/lash checks, plug changes and so fourth must be thought about when putting it together

Slowly making progress, had to do some cutting to make this crap fit. Decided pushing the turbos fwd through the front grill was the best option to give me a few more inches to fit the exhaust fuel pump, fuel cell, remote filter etc... Had to order up some 3.5" mandrels to complete the head to turbo connections which should be at the house by the time i get home home today! :headbang: 3.5" might be a touch large for hot side but header primary's ended up at 2.5" to keep form shrouding the exhaust port so 3.5" made more sense then 3". Being its on methanol the exhaust volume should be a lot higher than a gas motor anyways..

Made some more progress.

Both turbos are mounted.

Should have all the fab/fitment crap wrapped up this week Have to yank the motor back out, do some welding and bracing on motor plate tabs etc.. clean everything up, assemble the new trans and the stuff it all back in.
