A couple months ago I bought a holley adjustable fuel pressure regulator for my 5.0 and tried setting it around 40-45 psi. Anything over about 36 would cause gas to start shooting out of the opening where the vacuum tube attaches to. I mean gas on the hood, fenders, everywhere. When I brought it down enough to where it wouldn't spray, the motor just seemed like it wasn't getting enough gas at all. The fuel pressure would drop down about 8 psi when I got on the throttle, and the motor took a lot longer than usual to get past 3k rpm. So yesterday I put a 190 pump in and it was still spraying everywhere. I thought it was just the stock pump not getting enough gas up front or maybe the fuel filter was clogged. Has anyone ever heard of the regulator spraying like this?
This is the one I bought.
