Aaron the Bearded Wonder is Leaving Gas Monkey Garage

Its pretty bad. The numbers they throw out for the work they perform is insane.

The T-bird with the haggard GTO driveline and BS metal fab was terrible. They probably added about 400 pounds of 1/4" plate brackets to cobble it together.

He has some really special people working for him! They all seem to be auto-tech drop outs!

I love his BRAKE test... 40mph and lock up the tires!

i prefer full custom garage. I like watching ian make things in a way that a typical dty garage guy would. Every once and a while i pick something up from him and try it myself. Like cutting aluminum sheet stock with a circular saw with a decent carbide tipped blade. I used that trick on my work bench when i did it.

exactly!!!

I'm pretty much only watch Roadkill, Mechum, TGT sometimes wheeler dealers sometimes horsepower tv and muscle car tv.....and Full custom garage...... anymore... as far as the discovery channel line up is concerned...the drama is fake as hell... every episode is the exact same even from different shows and there is nothing to gain from it.....

I stopped watching all those shows. I hate the drama. I still enjoy an episode of count's customs every now & then. I just wish they showed more of the car/bike/whatever getting built/painted & less fuckerey.

Same, some of the shows on velocity are alright and ill watch that. But GMG, street outlaws etc etc i can't do.

I have a friend who works in FCA SRT powertrain. This is an Engineering Pro who's experience goes as deep as the factory Jaguar GTP cars, LeMans with Aston Martin, WRC, and a shit-ton of work with Pratt & Miller. BEFORE the SRT job. He's been there. Done that. The very first year Rawlings was brought to the Woodward cruise as part of the Dodge ad campaign, my buddy was there and introductions were made, etc.. Rawlings blew him off like he was some wanna-be fanboy. His arrogance was truly disturbing. Like on a clinical level. When Rawlings was asked to go to another site to make an appearance, he basically told them that it wasn't in his contract, and unless they were going to pay, he wasn't there to play.

I'm very happy for Aaron that he's going solo. I feel like his talent has made that show what it is, and I will bet you that it goes downhill quickly with him gone.
