I think some people are best to just stay away from Belle Tires and Discount Tires. They are too big and just want to go after big money.
Find a private owned store that will just repair what you need and have you on your way.
Because we could have contacted one of the three people that work for Belle Tire here. Maybe they could have gotten the other side of the story. If this was indeed true, they could have had something done.
Maybe this wouldn't happen in the future, but I guess that's not a good idea right?
That is where I was coming from with my comment above, I would have contacted them first to get some real help (if that is possible)
from the sounds of it belle tire is a rip off unless you know the guy at the counter...
im sure the guy doesnt carry his lap top around with him... he said that it happened while he was out and he took his car to get checked out... how could he get in contact with someone on here... if he had a phone number to someone he thought could get him a better price im sure he would have called... we all would... i dont see any reason to give him a hard time
I had a pretty horrible experience with the Belle Tire in Royal Oak. About 2 years ago I went there to get two new front tires for my dually. The only reason I went there was because my friend was running the front counter. Anyway, they install the new tires and I leave. I don't get like a mile down the road and the truck is all over the place. Take a look at the front end and all of the lug nuts were coming off. The douchebags only put them on by hand tight. I called up Belle Tire about the situation and they wanted me to drive the truck back to them. I refused and made them come to me. They didn't even know what to say. Never even put an air gun to it. The manager wouldn't do anything for me because of their stupidity and even said that I was already getting a deal because I was saving $10 per tire. I wasn't looking for anything free but man up to your ASE certified mechanics that couldn't even bolt on a set of tires properly. I ended up filing a complaint with their corporate office where they sent me a $25 gift card. I mailed it back to them chopped in missed and said "No thank you. Hire some new mechanics."

I actually tried that... I called 5 private joints around and they all said... well you could drop it off and I could have it back to you MAYBE by tomorrow. I needed it done... I had no brakes
Agreed.
Maybe the mods can post a contact section on the site of their cell, office, etc. for members to use in case there is an issue with a supporting vendor. (In this case it wasn't) Since they are elected officials, they should be accessible to the members outside of the website.
i will never go to belle tire unless somebody i know is writing up my work order... i bought a set of tires last year from the one at 14 and john r so im not hating on all belle tires but the one in allen park did the same thing to a guy i worked with... they wrote a qoute for over 9 hundred dollars for new tie rod ends, ball joints and a couple other small things while they had it apart... i told him it was an outrageous price since he had a friend that would do the work for 150 plus parts... i called reiko to get a price on parts and he came up just over a hundred... thats $650 saved... id go anywhere but belle tire for service...
There is this contact info. in the thread of vendors. COntact info is on there.

But there is nothing to be done! It is too late! If someone tries to scam you, no amount of after the fact refunds or whatever will change the fact that they tried to scam him. He just let other people know what happened to him there, and it's up to the rest of us to decide how, if at all, this affects us when deciding who to give our business.
