A rant about Belle Tire, Royal Oak

Because we could have contacted one of the three people that work for Belle Tire here. Maybe they could have gotten the other side of the story. If this was indeed true, they could have had something done.

Maybe this wouldn't happen in the future, but I guess that's not a good idea right?

Simple solution, next time go see Ryan or Jenga and Murph.

If I have a problem with Belle Tire in Ohio or up in Traverse City I'll be sure to send the MM Gods... Oh I mean "Mods" a PM. :shake: :shake:

Lastly,
Do NOT attack a MM Member! As a mod, one of your responsibilities is protection of the club members. OR is it if they are a supporting vendor, they get preference?
Is this a club for members or is this a club for supporting vendors?
You discounted what he had to say about Belle Tire as False based on what? NOTHING!

You're an elected official, it's a privilege, treat the position with respect and stand up for the people that put you there -- the MM members!
Don't act like a politician that we send to Congress that once in the position, they turn their back on their constituents.

im sure the guy doesnt carry his lap top around with him... he said that it happened while he was out and he took his car to get checked out... how could he get in contact with someone on here... if he had a phone number to someone he thought could get him a better price im sure he would have called... we all would... i dont see any reason to give him a hard time

I feel your right in a way Matt. No doubt it couldve been resolved threw a mod. No agrument there.

But i do feel Lars is right as well. This is what helps us as consumers. I dont think this experience is gonna hurt OUR belle tire sponsors..just a heads up for this certain individual.

I appreciate the devils advocate views as well as the views I share. I in no way was posting this to hurt motown muscle's sponsors... just giving a heads up to a bad experience I had as a customer with a business. Nothing more.

Altho I am not a paying member of MM I agree with wikdsvt's point of view.

I'm not worried about hurting our sponsor. I'm worried about fixing the problem that way our guys "Jenga,Murph and Ryelou" don't suffer.

None of them even work at that Belle Tire. My point is they might know someone who does and can bring this to the attention of a manager. That way it doesn't happen again.

Most auto repair places get you on stuff. I was standing at one and this guy was ripping off this old man. Charged him $450 for a new a/c condensor....NOT compressor....condensor!!!! I called my aftermarket supplier, cost is $57 dollars, list was like $100 or $110. I thought that was bullshit. What is wrong with making a fair markup...20-30% and then make your money doing the labor also??

You will get more business out of giving a person a deal rather than ripping them off. Word of mouth advertising is free and is the best form of advertising out in the world today.

i've had something similar happen before... a lot of tire places will pull the "it's not safe to put tires on your car unless we put new tie rod ends on it" etc...

now mind you not all places are like this. ryelou always does right for me, and it's why i drive 30 minutes past the belle tire (and discount tire) that are right by my house to go see him.

well, that and he's so darned cute.

understated for sure... but true.

All the guy had to do was help me out. I was in much pain. He would've done so, I woulda probably gave mad props because of my immobile situation. and gone back to him for tires in the future. Now, I am spreading the word about them.. in hopes that nobody goes to them. Maybe all Belle Tires aren't the same, but I bet that practice of squeezing every dollar from a customer is in effect everywhere and I think it's BS!

Thanks for the heads up on this PARTICULAR location.

I know for sure when I go to get new tires in the future I will try and give my buisness to Ryan, Murph, or Jenga. I have heard nothing but good things about them! Just because one Belle Tire has bad service doesn't necessarily mean that any of the other's do, at least in my opinion.

I dont like to stick up for service stations because i have had my share of bad ones. BUt

condensor 110.00
labor to remove and reinstall (based on the book that says how many hours to charge not actual time) 3 hours at 85.00 = 255.00

evac and recharge ac system 85.00

=450.00

Hey the front seal in my daughters trans went 800.00 for a 10.00 part. well they did change the TC 150.00 parts 650.00 labor

Your math is correct, but $450 was just for the part. The total on the bill was a little over $700. He had the labor fees, the freeon removal/install and other misc parts. He straight up ripped that guy off. Poor old man.

I know exactly where you are coming from. How about when they try and return a starter that you tested in front of them because it's "no good"....no you fried it dumbass.... OR...I love this one. Hey I bought this from "XXXXX" yard and they won't take it back, I have their receipt will YOU take it back?? WTFFFFFF??? Would you try taking back something to K-mart that you bought at Meijers???:rocketwho

ouch that is a rip off

I worked for a parts store/service station way back in the late 70's early 80's , before the murray's and auto zones. The boss there did it all the time , he would replace parts that where sitting on his shelves to move stock, even though the cars didnt need them. But then i also saw him do favors for some people he didnt even lnow that well. Sad to say but depened on how he felt each day.

I had a pretty horrible experience with the Belle Tire in Royal Oak. About 2 years ago I went there to get two new front tires for my dually. The only reason I went there was because my friend was running the front counter. Anyway, they install the new tires and I leave. I don't get like a mile down the road and the truck is all over the place. Take a look at the front end and all of the lug nuts were coming off. The douchebags only put them on by hand tight. I called up Belle Tire about the situation and they wanted me to drive the truck back to them. I refused and made them come to me. They didn't even know what to say. Never even put an air gun to it. The manager wouldn't do anything for me because of their stupidity and even said that I was already getting a deal because I was saving $10 per tire. I wasn't looking for anything free but man up to your ASE certified mechanics that couldn't even bolt on a set of tires properly. I ended up filing a complaint with their corporate office where they sent me a $25 gift card. I mailed it back to them chopped in missed and said "No thank you. Hire some new mechanics."

I can't say good nor bad for that particular Belle Tire since I have never been there. But I fully understand where you are coming from. The new Belle Tire here in Jackson seems to be hit or miss depending on the day. I went there once for my car and had to tires put on the back. (mind you I already had the tires and took them 2 rims with tires on them and 2 tires.) I sent my G/F to take care of it while I was busy with other things. She was back in no more than 15 minutes. Now a few days ago I did the same thing for my Jeep. 2 rims with tires and 2 loose tires to be mounted on my rims. I pulled up and the parking lot had maybe 5 cars in it. Which I assume 4 of the 5 were employee cars. And there was only 2 cars inside the shop. I walk into the lobby and tell them what I need and ask them roughly how long it will take. The guy behind the counter tells me "about an hour to an hour and a half". So I gave him my name and number and said "call me when they are done". I went back home and about 2 hours later I had yet to get a phone call from Belle Tire. So I drive up there and see if they were done. I go into the lobby and there were a few people at the counter so I stood back and just looked at the wheels and tires they had on display. About half hour later the guy tells me my tires have been done for almost 2 hours.

Sometimes I wish I still lived in P.H. and had my old job back where I had access to a tire machine and a balancer.

+1 for the heads up on THAT PARTICULAR Belle Tire location!
