'94 Firebird formula

split the LT1 and the T56 today, dropped the trans off to get it's converted over to a LS-T56. LT still had the stock clutch on it lol.

both LT and LS engine harnesses are at a friends house and that ball of excitement begins.

it's a job i don't mind letting him do, i planned on sourcing it out but all the shops that did LT to LS conversions quit because "too many people are requesting it" <-- most back asswards logic ever.

painted the engine bay today. also pulled some more parts off the LT1, i've decided that that is going to be for sale so if anyone needs one PM me, 101k mikes and ran strong. comes with the ecu. also have a k member and steering rack. Located in Mason MI.

Getting close, have to get a broken exhaust bolt out of one of the heads, then manifolds go on. Getting close to setting the car back onto it.

Finally got the bastard out, the heads were so cold from sitting in the garage that they were sucking all the heat out of the bolt. Finally got it though. Headers are on it now. Waiting for a pilot bearing and Tick remote bleeder then I think it'll be ready to go back in!

I just did the same thing to over half the bolts on my 1500hd. It wasn't too horrible in the truck. I was told it is pretty common for the truck manifolds to be missing over half the bolt heads.

ouch! i was lucky then, i only had two break. one had about 1/4" sticking out and i was able to get it with vice grips, this one was a bit of a pain just because the heads were so cold.

Moved the nitrous bottle so that I can reach it without getting out of the car, and now I can more comfortably remove the rear bumper bar and not worry about the tank being in the back.

The engine should hopefully be going back under next weekend, I got the last things I think I needed, transmission fluid, pilot bearing, and a Tick remote bleeder.

We used these wooden dollys to roll the complete trans/engine around.

Lifted the car, rolled it under, and dropped in onto the k-member!

Reunited and it feels so good!!!

(filmed with a potato, apparently)

Well she cranked over yesterday!! But no start yet. I needed to get two different fittings for the fuel. One I got was a 90° and needs to be straight because it's hitting something, and my push to connect fuel line dick for the c5 regulator needs to be 3/8" and I ordered 5/16", so new parts are on their way.

Well the car is running great, loud as hell and i can't wait to drive it again...

but we are having a problem with it not wanting to go into gear. i had it taken to another friends house who has a hoist, and the trans is coming back out. we think there is something leaking that is not allowing the clutch to bleed properly and it won't allow it to go into gear. we put in a new clutch master cylinder in thinking that was the problem but it didn't fix it. we think we hear a quiet squirting/bubbling noise from down inside the trans to we're going to pull it off and make sure it's all good inside. only think i can think is that the remote bleeder came loose.

i also found out that the air filter i ordered is way to small, i guess the SLP setup has a different size filter?? anyone have a proper part number on that one?

Wix for 98-2002 is #46144

is that for an OEM air box? i ordered a K&N for a '00 camaro and it's about .5" too small for my air box, only think i can think is that the SLP setup has a larger air box.
