93 Nissan 240sx LS1/T56/Backhalf... Turbo in progress.

My mustang is pretty damn quiet rolling around. I split the 3" downpipe into 2 2.5" pipes and went thru 2 pypes flowthru mufflers. If I was to add a resonator it would probably be even quieter. When standing behind the car at idle you can hear the fuel pump over the exhaust

Hrm.... I'm thinking i'm going to keep it a full 3.5 all the way out the back. Maybe add a resonator but I know I will probably go with the Hush 3.5" Hushpower or a MagnaFlow. I dont think it will be loud at all with that 1.05 housing.

Done with the crossover and working on the merge now. Downpipe and I/C piping is done. All thats left now is the merge, wastegate, fuel system, wire tuck and tune!

It looks like it has been well kept though. I'm happy he kept it nice and clean. All of that work would have been in vain lol.

Almost done with the merge, should be done tomorrow. Last bit of piping I need done besides mounting the wastegate!

Does any know the thread/pitch of the bolts that hold the power steering pump bracket on and bolts to the head? Weird ass GM sizes...

Merge Pipe is done... test fitting the gate. The extension was premade for another car and perfectly fit for my setup, but I think the extension is a bit long. I also plan on rerouting it. I'm sure if I angle it right i wont have to use the extension at all.

Where are all my LS tuning gurus at?

So I'm lost in the sauce when it comes to tuning. I want to set this thing up for ease of tuning to my choice of tuners.

1) Switch to SD and run a 2 bar map (Only running 8PSI right now)
2) Run a cyclone/typhoon IAT because its threaded and is a direct plug in.
3) Should I run an open loop tune and get rid of the o2s? Obviously going to run a Wideband as well.

Thanks for the help guys.

I kinda am favoring #3 since it is what my tuner decided to use for tuning and many other folks have been doing that too. I really don't know the pros and cons of it tho besides an emissions standpoint.

It wasnt a choice of the 3, I will for sure be doing a SD tune on a 2 bar map, just hung up on if I want to run closed or open loop. My Tuner, Ryne at Cummingham Motorsports said the closed loop tune can be tricky especially if the o2s are preturbo because the back pressure will give slight faulty readings.

Besides the exhaust All piping is DONE! Got my wastegate on what I believe is a great location. Also talked with my tuner, he can drop a 2bar map Speed density flash in so I can start it up and the deposit can be used towards the tune when I get it there! I'm super excited, at the final stages, going to try and start her this weekend!

Started her up today... ran like poo, a few spark plug wires were damaged on removal (I hate Nology). Going to send hot parts off to get powdercoated, finish the fuel system and off to get her tuned!

dope build!

i will be interested to see what you do with the exhaust to quiet it down - would like to do the same for my ls1 capri.

Believe it or not it was pretty quiet when I started her up open downpipe. I had a feeling the 1.05AR housing would quiet it down a bit. Im sure once I get my turbo cam and full exhaust on, it wont be loud at all.

Got some the hot pipes back from powdercoating... All thats left is to make the wastegate reroute, powdercoat the exhaust housing and downpipe, fuel system, bolt on the intake, button it up and tune it!
