Just finished my crew cab build and I am having a few issues with the way the engine is running. It's a 96 turbo PSD non intercooled. Things I did before intalling the used engin are: Changed all gaskets and o-rings including the injector o-rings. Engine has a new lift pump and new CPS. The high pressure pump is not the original but a remanufactured Ford sticker is on it. It also has a van turbo on it that has no wastegate and the EBPV has been gutted. I also upgraded the IDM to 120V instead of the stock 100V.

The problem I'm having is that the engine will miss when I first start it up and then after driving for a little bit or a few WOT it will clear up. Also at WOT the engine will start to cut out like i'm hitting a rev limiter. Also it feels like the engine is lacking power. I know this thing should boogie but it takes forever just to get it up to 80mph.

Does anybody have a good scan tool they can hook up so I can see what's going on. I have a scan tool but it doesn't show engine data only codes. I already checked for codes but there were no DTC's present.

I'm stumped and could use some help.

But there is no white smoke or anything coming from the exhaust...It almost never smokes except for the first morning start and that's just cause my GP relay is shot right now.

no tune or chip...I bumped up the fuel pressure today by shimming the fuel regulator but still no change. Just stumped at whats going on.

Most of them wont if its just one injector that's doing it, mine had three bad; one stuck open and two with the pintle seats cracked an it never smoked.. They're easy to pull and check, Check all the needles/tips with a tube and vacuum pump for leaks. If they wont hold vacuum they need to be changed.

Ugh...I just had them out to replace the o-rings. Alright I guess I'll have to do that. Any leads on good replacements for a good price?

OK, I found my cut out problem. Turns out I have a gas MAP sensor that is only 1bar and I need a PSD MAP sensor which is 3bar. Basically I was hitting the boost cutout because I was maxing out the sensor...I unplugged the sensor and wow what a difference. The only thing that sucks is that it's a $200-$300 sensor
