696 white out tow bill from woodward page

Going to go with that is fake. Its over $7000. No way anyone could get away with that unless it was multiple overturned semis.

It was originally posted on the Chesterfield resident FB page. It was for an Escape that was rear ended. The tow yard wont release the vehicle until its paid in cash and are not letting the insurance company use a check or card either.

Towing is fucked in our area. It's unregulated by the state so they can literally put whatever the hell they want on the bill and see if someone will pay it. Your also looking at a tow truck from Redford that probably heard about the pile up and decided to see if someone would flag them down so they could just stack charges on them/ins company. Unfortunately some shady people ruin things for everyone else.

Towing charge $2195
Mileage charge $200
storage $525

Theres some other charges I didnt list

$2,920!?!?!?

I guess I did read that correctly!

That is literally highway robbery!

I bet a small claims court would take care of that in short order.

No no...

That bill was closer to $7k.

Labor 300
Storage 525
Covid 395

I saw this post on the Woodward page and there was comments about the address not even being valid. I've saw some valid outrageous tow bills but even they were still under $1,000.

So the total bill was $9,048!!! After being confronted, the towing company
reduced the bill to $2,500 and the insurance company paid it!

Still so very, very wrong!

Where are our Investigators? "10G Towing" needs to be exposed & shamed!

Well looks like this is real. Plenty of people seem to have got these. Few major news networks just ran stories on them. Insane!

Any business that services these tow companies should make sure they return the favor and hold their trucks till they pay just like they do.
