3BallsRacing is holding our annual charity event (supporting melanoma research at the Karmanos Cancer Institute) this Saturday at the brand new M1 Concourse in Pontiac, MI. We will be taking donations, selling t-shirts, giving ride-alongs in several track vehicles, renting the 3BallsRacing Neon for you to drive hotlaps on the track, and holding a silent auction.

Here's the link to the silent auction.

If you would like to make a direct donation to Karmanos to support our cause, please use this link.

Please consider coming out to check out the event and support the cause. The facility is brand new so if you haven't checked it out yet you owe it to yourself to come and see it. Our goal is to raise about $22,000 this year, which would bring our 4-year total to over $100,000!

For those of you who have been wanting to see what open track (roadcourse) events are all about... this is your chance. For a small donation, you can go for a ride with an instructor in a variety of vehicles including a Viper ACR, Hellcat, Panoz GTS, or a few different Corvettes.

Thanks.
-Matt

Will the 4 point harnesses clear my depends Matt. You'd probably cause a few drops/leaks if I rode along. :)

George

What hours is this event, ALL DAY?

I'm not sure of the exact times but I think the track will be hot from 9a-5p or so.

Think you can climb in over the cage George?

Do you guys ever do open events where you can drive your own car on courses? I'd like to try my SS out and M1 is right down South Blvd from me.

Yes, that's pretty much what we do. For this event we're offering ride-alongs as part of the charity event but it is an open-track (HPDE) event where people are bringing thier own cars. This is our only event at M1 though and it's been sold out for a while. Our next event is at Grattan Raceway Labor Day weekend. See 3ballsracing.com for more details on that event and get a hold of me if you have more questions.

Nice silent auction! I need a new set of street tires for my Camaro, maybe I will drop a bid on there.

Good luck with that. I tried to register for the auction a day ago and
its not recognizing me / letting me log on to bid.

Forum registration is done manually to prevent bots. I will let the approver know that you are an actual person. Are you planning on coming to the event?

I saw M1 has an open track day coming up. $280 seems like a bit much though compared to what I've seen others cost.

3BallsRacing gets $230/day for Grattan on our normal weekends. If M1 is providing their excellent instructors (I know a few), $280 is not out of line. I haven't really looked into the details of that event yet though so I'm not sure what is included.

BTW, the cost of the event is only a small portion of your total costs for running. Add in fuel, tires, brake pads, helmet, food, lodging, etc... Racing makes a heroin addiction look like a thirst for something salty. ;)
