2016 Lions thread........discuss or discust?

I have a feeling that when the NFL playoff committee takes a look at strength of schedule and quality wins, it will not bode well for the Lions....

...oh, wait

Because other teams have kickers that don't miss....

Don't get baited into it, don't feed the troll. He'll pick one little thing out and beat it to death in hope to obscure what really matters here; the Lions and Matt Stafford can't win big games. They went from 2nd place in the NFC with a 1st round bye and home field advantage to this, all because they can't just can't get it done.

one and done and I hope Caldwell is outta here, sooooooooo tired of this shi# after growing up in SE Michigan for 40 years of it.:swear:

Is he supposed to have a seizure or heart attack over millionare ball players not knowing how to play? A calm demeanor is needed the players have to play.

What, because they're millionairs they should get special treatment? When a player screws up he shouldn't be getting a heartfelt pat on the ass.

It's sad that I am still a fan of this team after all the piss poor years. They did better than i expected this year but I really wish the fords would just sell the damn team. The old man let management run this team into the ground. Martha did make some changes but they need to let it go.

The days of cussing players out are gone. These guys make the same money whether they win or lose. I wish that packer hadn't got hurt that stopped the lions momentum.

And that almost interception for probably a pick 6 would have stopped the momentum too....

Yes get rid of the winniest coach in Lions history in the Super Bowl era.

He's gotten them to the playoffs 2 of his 3 years.

Which is more than Moeller, Mornhinweg, Mariucci, Jauron, Marinelli and Schwartz managed over 14 seasons combined!

Yeah, get rid of him!

Seriously.... look at the records of Lions coaches since 2000.... and you guys want to fire a guy who's 27-21 over three years and in the playoffs twice. How fucking stupid are you guys?!

Mornhinweg: 5-27
Mariucci: 15-28
Jauron: 1-4
Marinelli: 10-38
Schwartz: 29-51
Caldwell: 27-21

Sooooo sick of these 8, 9 and 10 win seasons, right? As compared with the 2-4 win (and sometimes less) season of the past decade and a half?!?

There are TWENTY teams who didn't make the playoffs, and here you dipshits are calling for the coach to be fired and practically hoping they lose their playoff game... just because all you know how to do is bitch.

I was right, you people are just sad and miserable

Mike I think we agree on something here! I do say no on firing Caldwell however I think the Fords are gonna be running through coaches until someone brings Detroit a winning season.

I think they hang onto him for a while. He is a good coach. The players like him.

Caldwell's winning percentage over three years is .563... is that GREAT? No, not great, but it's the Lions. We ain't the fucking Patriots. 13-3 seasons aren't on our radar. The previous five coaches over 15 years averaged a winning percentage of .255. For those of you who aren't great at math, that's 25% which translates to an average of 4-12 over the course of the season. Caldwell has averaged 9-6 over his three years. He's more than doubled the average number of wins. You want to fire that guy? Do we want 4 win seasons, or 9-10 win seasons and trips to the playoffs?

And, not one for making excuses, but the Lions got flat out HOSED twice last year (against the Seahawks, when Wagner intentionally batted the ball out of the back of the end zone, which SHOULD have been a safety, but the refs blew the call and cost us the game and when Rodgers faked the facemask, refs blew the call and he got another chance for the miracle Hail Mary... ) if the refs get either one of those calls right, the Lions would have been in the playoffs and that would have made this three straight for Caldwell...
