So if I made a new post instead of posting about the topic at hand in the same thread that would have been a better idea?? So 2 posts about the picnic going at the same time, got it..

I agree that the shitty turnout numbers were a good reason to cancel the picnic, However the fact that at least 3 of the 9 respondents to the poll showed up at Kensington today, I think it is safe to assume there was a better way to inform people.

That said, you know you are allowed to reply to a post without an attitude about it right? The president job is voluntary and you are allowed to step down. You dont appear to enjoy it, you say you dont have time for it, and you are annoyed anytime someone asks a question...so why hasnt there been an election in 3 years?

That's fine - I just wish I had known as I wouldn't have cancelled my other plans.

That said, you know you are allowed to reply to a post without an attitude about it right?
Wouldn't that confuse people?

I have no elevated status whatsoever. I'm not a president, commander, or general.
The limited mod privileges I once had were unceremoniously revoked long ago.

What is annoying is the constant "jabs" from the same folks here at me time after time who forget that this is a "club", not a store or a big business. I'm not perfect by any means and if u bothered to read my ENTIRE post, you would have seen my apology at the end. Since you've been around a long time, what positions did we have in the past? Events director, race director, membership director, sponsorship director, vice/president right? Tony has openly said that it's difficult for him these days with work to be able to manage the events portion. Matt/Justin help me out when they can but both are obviously busy just like the rest of us. That means I get to support the events director, be the race director, work with the sponsors, and be the vice and the president. Justin and I have a plan in place for keeping track of membership stuff etc going forward after the Woodward stuff is over with, just need to finalize the process. I try to wear all of the hats so that YOU guys as members have an enjoyable time at the few events a year that we're able to put on and "donate" my time/money/resources for YOUR entertainment. To sit back and and pile on me constantly (to my face or behind my back which gets back to me anyway) gets old after awhile and quite frankly it's a little tough to look a few of you in the face that throw stones constantly but NEVER step up to help out. It's very easy to point out any faults, pick apart how something was set up, or mistakes I have made when you're never under the microscope yourself.. Your hands are clean, it's easy to be on the outside :-) Here was my FULL post below, i highlighted my apology unless you missed it. If you're interested in running for one of the positions above, let me know!

So if I made a new post instead of posting about the topic at hand in the same thread that would have been a better idea?? So 2 posts about the picnic going at the same time, got it.. Tony did post in the invite that Mark created about the updated change as well, I didn't create the FB invite so how was I supposed to edit that again? Having the MM facebook page and the message board that both serve the same purpose is the reason I wanted to remove the fb page before. Sorry for the confusion guys, obviously wasn't my intent and apologize. I posted on the 22nd about our turnout and thought that that it would be plenty of notice. I know before I attend anything I always check the days/times etc. I'll see everyone on the 15th for the dream cruise or October 10th for our 9AM-1PM track rental, enjoy the awesome weather!

 Like anyone would actually step up and do anything. Mark was an elected club official for a few years and did NOTHING but bitch.

I don't think anyone realizes that Nick pretty much organizes and does everything for the club on his own. Clearly he isn't getting paid enough to deal with this BS.

i don't think he was replying to you, he quoted CMYZ.

For fucks sake I know he covers costs for shortfalls for events out of his own pocket! I've offered to help cover some of the cost but he won't take my money.

Out of curiosity, what are the financials like for the club? To be brutally honest, this place is dead. Not just talking the forums, the entire premise. We're older and the club never brought in an influx of younger people. What does that mean? We have different priorities and when those priorities aren't claiming everyone's time, there just isn't nearly as much time as we used to have to do things. Even if I lived in the area, I wouldn't have time to do monthly meetings or race days or picnics etc... I think the real questions are these:

Financially are we sound or forcing things (which puts the burden on others to produce).
Do we feel the club is still a club or is this more a forum where people just coordinate things (obvious things like Woodward).
Should we revamp what the expectations are for this? many have the mindset this is the same club of 10 years ago.

If we feel the club is still the 'club' and not just a forum now, perhaps we should set bylaws and revamp the place to reflect those bylaws. Make donations worth it, make events better planned and with more help.

I'm in GA so I don't necessarily have a dog in the fight as it really has no impact on me, but I don't want what I have invested quite a bit of time and effort in the past into to become a nebulous blob of uncertainty. I think the club has matured, but the expectations haven't matured with it.

Cmyz28 is a damn good guy and does a ton of shit for the club.

Don't like him or the way the club is ran??

Stop logging in.

The club has enough now to cover a small shortage if the woodward lot and track rental money isn't totally covered by those that attend and the members approve us using the "clubs" money for those pieces. Rather than dipping into what the club has and asking everyone if it's ok, I usually pay out of pocket as my gift to the club because I want the money to be there for the club years down the line. A few of you know this, but not something I normally discuss outright. Matt paid for the stickers/license plate frames in the past and won't take a dime for them. These are things that bring the club dollars in versus out. We haven't made shirts in a few years but need money on hand to do the original order(which I'd like to have these done later this year), we put $500 down towards woodward to reserve our spot before we collect, save for the xmas party, anything the club needs. I don't want the club working in the negative for years to come but the finances aren't an issue. Other forms of social media have really impacted most of the car/hobby sites. I'd really like to plan something post Woodward and get idea on what direction the club would like to go in, what positions we need, what changes we need to make etc. Appreciate the post Ryan(being serious so others don't try to twist my words or perceive it the wrong way)

Odd, I don't recall ever bitching. That's not in my nature.

Oops. I was gonna say - I don't take cheap shots.

Really? This is a good one and oddly enough relates to the picnic last year(you were still an official at this point).. I'm know I can find a lot more just like this one because that's what set a few of the other officials off who texted me after this last reply. We went round and round via pm after this one. Oddly enough you just sent me a PM about what a thankless job it is and i replied with a thank you for getting the posts up on facebook for the events coming up that I posted below. Anyway enough dirty laundry, can't wait to see everyone at Woodward and we'll discuss some new ideas/concepts for the club!! I'm gonna shut this thread down later tonight as it's ran it's course, anyone who wants to follow up with me to discuss it further, feel free to shoot me a PM and i'd be happy to have a one on one conversation versus this mudslinging party. Thanks to those of you who tried to make this come together today, sorry that we couldn't make it happen! Thanks to those of you who post/attend the events/spread the word as well, much appreciated!

Thank-you for doing the leg work for both events. It's a thankless job.

I'll update the thread shortly, old people day aka pension day here at work. Also, thanks for getting the fb event invites out as well, i know that'll help boost attendance, I really appreciate it. I really do enjoy going to these events etc, it just sucks the fun out of it a bit setting up woodward/picnic/track rentals etc. sometimes. While everyone is cruising during the week of woodward, i'm stuck hitting the stores making sure i've got everything we need for our 80+ people, storing the stuff, making sure that i've got everything, trying to pack it all, cooking etc., and get it there and being annoyed that i'm stuck bringing my boring DD to get it all there. Ah well /rant off. Both events will be a good time as usual
