2014 Ford F-150 Tremor debuts

I don't care how many douchebags drive Raptors, I'd still rock it. Come to think of it, I am kind of a douchebag though.

I just can't get down with the over the top styling of the Raptor. I'd like it much better if it were more understated. This truck [Tremor] makes more sense, or it would suit me better.

I did see far too many Raptors at MSU last school year. All fitted with ultra-tacky KMC wheels and driven by frat boys! I think that may have something to do with my distaste.

My uncle has a white one with flat black graphics in a 4 door. I love it, I would drive the shit out of one too.

The raptors are indeed a badass truck, if you have not driven one your missing out. I myself love the super cab, were gonna be making a limited production Raptor soon I heard. Its like a maroon metallic color.

Anyone have any idea on cost yet? I bought another truck, but I'd still like one down the road.

I wanted to get one instead of the Silverado, I just didnt get anything back from any of the Ford sales people I asked. Release date, price, ect.

From another forum. About 10k more than it's worth to me. A new Lightning i could potentially see being around 42, but not this.

Good grief. I agree. If it was something like a lightning I could see it. Seems steep, very steep.

I was looking at buying a new(er) EcoBoost F150 and walked out with a Raptor for less cash. It was a 2010 with the 5.4L but I would get 18-19 MPG on the highway and was quicker than any other 5.4L I have driven or owned. The ride was amazing and the interior/features were loaded. Mine was tuxedo black without graphics. I see where people dont like the loud colors with the stickers all over the bed etc. I wish it wasnt so expensive or I would still have it. (trying to save for a house and got hit with some unexpected bills)

Im a fan of a less "loud" looking vehicle, but being limited production. the Raptor is styled that way for a few reasons.

I think the Tremor will have its own look but nothing crazy for the most part

not very loud, but I do wish it had a more distinctive look. it doesn't look like a sport truck, it just looks like a regular cab 2wd pickup with some graphics. which is exactly what it is.

I think it should've gone in the same direction as the Ram Rumble Bee concept did:

it looks much more unique and sporty when compared to a regular Ram IMO

Needs to be a little lower, 6sp manual trans, extended cab.

There is no manual trans in any F150 so there's no parts bin to take one from.

The point of the Tremor is that before this you couldn't spec out an EcoBoost regular cab, short bed. Now you can. They added the FX visual parts, bucket seats, and slapped a sticker on the side of the bed. Parts-bin engineering at its finest.

With a price tag that suggests some advanced engineering. Disappointing. I just priced out a 2014 std cab, short bed, 5.3L Sierra with 20's and a 4.10 and it was almost 10k less. Granted it doesn't have the TT 3.5 which is a big draw for me, but I couldn't see spending another 10k for the Ford.

I was hoping since it was a parts bin truck it would be a sporty truck with a competitive price.

Ford needs to make a modern Lightning with a 6MT.

yeah thats pretty steep considering a ram express 1500 hemi is like 23k

That's the Tradesman. An Express RC Hemi 4x2 is $26,050 An F150 XL regular cab 5.0 4x2 is $25,070. (I have no idea what's included in each, just going by the first screen of the Build-and-Price for the two trucks.

R/T is a closer competitor than the Express, but even that is 32-33 MSRP. Some crazy auto journos talking to "insiders at Ford" were saying it was gonna be 25-27k for the Tremor. They wouldn't have been able to keep them on the lot for that price. High 30s for 2wd and low 40s for 4wd, ain't nobody got time for that.
