2014 - 15 Lions Discussion Thread

I've been Lions free for 9 years. They still suck. They are going to get their ass pounded vs Dallas. And yes, Stafford sucks. After Brady, Brees, Manning and Rodgers, there are no good quarterbacks in the league. Maybe Luck because of his age. If the Lions didn't owe a shitload of cash to him, and the Falcons fire Mike Smith, I might go after Matt Ryan. But they owe Stafford so much, they can't afford too.

I give up. The only thing I can find where Stafford is close to a top 10 QB in is interceptions where he's has the 12th most in the league (obviously there are ties, so there's more than 12 listed).

Sooooo if I had to guess, you can put a list of probably 7 to 10 legitimate QB's better than Stafford in the league excluding your list. Add your list and it's closer to 15. he's an average QB who has an amazing receiving core around him.

Before you go off on some retarded rant again about it's a full sport, with running and shit. The Lions are 27th in the league in rushing. A total of 1311 rushing yards this year. So their run game isn't exactly outshining anything other than beating Ten, SD, Zona, TB, and the Raiders in Rushing stats.

The Lions are an average team who got a good schedule and plenty of close wins. I read somewhere that the lions are 0-16 against teams who have a winning record. Not sure how the stat is created or if it's even legitimate, but it sure seem likely knowing the team. Get them a good QB and this team becomes a legitimate contender. Now I know facts aren't your thing, so try not to stress out too much about all this and just step away from the keyboard before you do something like have a logical thought. Heaven forbid you become one of those bandwagon fans who live in reality!

2. you still avoid answering the question... again. For all of your fantasy football nerd numbers... who do you replace Stafford with that is better?

This actually is a more intelligent statement than anything Ryan has vomited out of his mouth. I don't totally agree with it... but at least it acknowledges that there are a few elite guys and the rest are about the same and a few are borderline awful. Stafford, IMHO, falls at the top of the "not elite but not awful"

The mistakes that some Lions fans seem to be willing to crucify Stafford for... other teams and other fans have been seeing the same shit from their QBs forever as well. Sanchez, Cutler, Rivers, Romo, Eli, Dalton, every Browns QB ever, etc etc... It's all the same

You pretty clearly seem to think Stafford is the only thing holding this team back. Your own words, they are "a good quarterback away"

The Lions are good, they arent great. They arent elite. They can beat shitty teams at home. They can beat shitty teams on the road. They can't beat really good teams on the road. The are mediocrity at it's finest.

Suh is a tremendous talent, but he's an absolute moron. As much as I will miss his talents on the field, I will be happy when he is gone.

As of right now, suspended for the wild card game.

I would like top point out thet I didnt like the Suh or stafford draft Pics when they were taken, Suh was a penalty master At nebraska and Stafford coulnt do shit against the better SEC teams

I think he is above average, but not great. Not yet. I think the talent is there. Not sure what it's going to take to get him to the next level though. He's the fastest player in NFL history to 20,000 yards and he's one of 5? QBs ever to surpass 5000 yards in a season. He's just unpolished, I guess? The guy has an absolute cannon for an arm and the touch to make a lot of throws that other QBs could never make

Rolling hard to the left and he slings this in on a rope. I don't know of anybody else who makes this throw:

As far as your list, if they could, I would see trading for Roethlisberger or Russell Wilson. Pass on Kaep, Romo, Smith and Eli. Stafford is better than those guys.
