2013 Tigers Thread

Both Veras, Alburquerque and especially Smily have done great pitching to more than 2 batters in a row during the season. Porcello gave up the winning run for the 2nd time. I blame Leyland for this ugly loss. Joel

Without a doubt it was an ugly loss. We did many things wrong as a team that got us to that place and Boston took advantage of it. Before the series started if you told me we'd be coming home tied up 1-1 I'd be great with a split. Knowing we should have 2 wins in our pocket 1-1 doesn't sit well with me. :shake:

Good one Veras. grand slam in the 7th. what a waste of a season. Fielder is garbage. time to null his contract.

If you guys don't want Fielder, we'll gladly take him back in Milwaukee!

As long as the Sox beat the Cardinals, this postseason won't be a total loss.

It was an exciting, entertaining season. The Sox just seemed to have a sense of destiny. After all that city went through, it'd be fitting for them to win the WS.

The season is over. Time to look after that wreckage that is the bullpen. Great starting lineup, great starting pitching and a bullpen that looks like an arson squad. Trade Porcello for some arms. They can start Smyly as the 5th starter. Peralta won't be back. Start Costillanos in left field.

Fielder was going thru a divorce. It's easy to say it shouldn't effect him, but he wasn't the same since he filed in May. He'll be fine next year. I think the only important free agent is Infante. Sign him for a couple more and they'll be fine.

you too with the divorce excuse. That's a bunch of BS. Divorce or not. He's getting paid to hit the ball. Clearly he doesn't give a crap. He's getting paid either way. his post conf interview confirmed this the other night.

One off season does not make him a lousy player. I think he'll do well next season. And don't discount the divorce. Family issues take a toll no matter how much you get paid.

I know...If he scored, it still ends up 5-3. I get it...He had a bad year. Who's going to trade for that big contract? The only two teams that could afford to do so (Yankees and Angels) already have 1st Baseman. And he protects Cabrera. Until Miggy got hurt, he had the best two years of his career with Fielder hitting behind him. I just think the bullpen is a far bigger issue.
